Training Pay. City shall pay one and one-half times regular salary rate for training required by the Police and Peace Officers Licensing Law which is taken outside of regular duty hours (approximately 48 hours every three years). The Chief will establish the type and amount of training required.

Training Pay. Full time Clerical Technicians in the Police Department may be selected, at the sole discretion of the Employer, to serve as a Police Clerical Trainer (PCT). PCT duties shall be assigned, in writing, by a supervisor and will be compensated at the rate of $1.00 per hour (in additional to regular pay) for all hours worked on that assignment. However, any hours worked as PCT during overtime shall be compensated at the base rate. The assigned duties may include one or more trainees, and will include responsibility for the direct training and performance documentation needed by the Supervisors for evaluation. The PCT shall be paid training pay if they reach at minimum one cumulative hour of training time per day to be tracked in increments no smaller than 15 minute blocks of time. During the assignment the PCT may be utilized to conduct their normal duties which will be paid at the regular rate of pay.
Training Pay. An employee who is assigned the responsibility for planning, organizing and evaluating the new skill development of an employee newly hired, or newly assigned to a classification in which the trainer is qualified to train will receive training pay. Any employees responsible to train fellow employees shall receive seventy-five cents ($0.75) per hour premium pay for all training hours. Inherent in the trainer role is the responsibility for specific criteria based and goal directed education and training for a specific period of time. Management will determine the need for training, if any. The Employer recognizes that generally taking an assignment, as trainer is voluntary. It is agreed that all employees have a responsibility for orienting new employees and employees newly assigned to a classification. Training of employees should usually be assigned to the lead and the training pay shall be in addition to lead pay.

The Department may create additional training positions during the life of this agreement as set out below: • If a Bureau Commander/Director makes a request through the chain-of-command to establish a new training program, the recommendation for such a program must include a detailed description of the formalized training program being recommended and the responsibilities to be assumed by the trainer.
