Training Opportunity. Where the Board offers an employee the opportunity to take training the conditions of Article 38.1 (Required Training) shall apply with the exception that the premium rate in Article 38.1.c. does not apply.

Training Opportunity. Should the Hospital identify an opportunity for training within a department (or work unit) such training will be offered through an expression of interest to employees within the department (or work unit) or should the Hospital identify an opportunity for training that extends across departments (or work units) such training shall be offered through an expression of interest to the bargaining unit. When this occurs, the Hospital will notify employees through an expression of interest for a period of at least three (3) calendar days. Employees wishing to be considered for these opportunities must express their interest, in writing, within the period referenced above. Selection shall be per Article 13(a)(iv) for all such training opportunities. If requested, the Hospital will discuss with unsuccessful employees, reasons why they were not chosen for the opportunity.

Training Opportunity. The Employer agrees to post notices for upcoming training on the informational bulletin board. Individual employees may apply for such training opportunities as they arise. An employee attending any non-approved training in his off duty hours shall receive no compensation for the time spent in such training. The employee may mutually agree with another employee to switch their shifts in order to attend non- approved training.

Training Opportunity. The City shall provide all eligible regular full-time employees three (3) full days paid training sessions per year. All training(s) shall be offered by the City during the employees regularly scheduled work shift. No overtime shall be incurred as a result of the training. Location of training shall be at the discretion of City. City shall pay standard per diem for necessary and approved overnight lodging. Job Opportunities Section 1: Temporary Assignments Unforeseen circumstances may arise on a shift, which would require an Employee to be temporarily assigned to work other than that he would normally perform. Should such circumstances arise, the Company shall first canvass for volunteers from those employees who are able to perform the work. Should there be more volunteers than are needed, the Company shall assign the work to the volunteer with the highest seniority. Should there be no volunteers; the Company shall assign the work to the lowest seniority employee able to perform the work. Temporary Assignments may be filled according to the process set out in this Article for a period of up to forty-five (45) days. Thereafter, the Temporary Assignment will be posted on a plant wide basis and made available to the most senior employee able to perform the work. In the event that the Temporary Assignment is going to exceed forty-five (45) days, and this fact is known at the time the vacancy first becomes available, the Company will post the Temporary Assignment in accordance with Section 2 at the time the Temporary Assignment first becomes available. If an Employee is temporarily required to fill a higher paid job, the Employee will receive the higher rate of pay for all hours spent performing the job, if he or she performs the job in excess of two (2) hours per shift. If an Employee is temporarily required to fill a lower paid job, his or her rate of pay shall not be reduced. In the event additional temporary assignments are required, the job will be filled in accordance with the process provided above. Subsequent to the completion of a Temporary Assignment, an Employee will be returned to his or her previous position, subject to seniority considerations.
Promotional Opportunities Each university shall promote upward mobility of employees by announcing opportunities as they occur. In all cases, it is the employee’s responsibility to make proper application for such positions. If an employee meets the minimum and special qualifications for a position, he/she will be considered.
EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES The Personnel Department will mail to the Association copies of all recruitment bulletins. Tentative examination bulletins approved by the Head of the Examining Division of the Personnel Department will be mailed two (2) calendar days prior to the date that said bulletins are scheduled to be approved by the Civil Service Commission.

Training Program It is agreed that there shall be an Apprenticeship Training Program, the provisions of which are set forth in Exhibit "C", which is attached hereto and forms part of this Agreement.
