Training and Skills Development. 4.1 Yarra Trams, employees and their representatives recognise that in order to increase efficiency, and the competitiveness of Yarra Trams, a continued commitment to training and skill development is necessary. Accordingly they commit themselves to:
Training and Skills Development. 2.12.1 The parties will co-operate in ensuring that appropriate training and cross skilling is available and that such training if required by the Employer will be provided at the expense of the Employer. The Employer also agrees to co-operate in encouraging Employees to avail themselves of the benefits of such training.
Training and Skills Development. With a view to enhancing the skills found throughout the enterprise and also the employees’ vocational, general and personal development, it is recommended that the enterprise and the employees work systematically on both formal training and skills development at the workplace, not only through daily work, access courses and new methods of organising work, but also through continuing vocational training activities. Both the enterprise and the employee are encouraged to take joint responsibility for promoting skills development with a view to matching the enterprise’s skills requirements and the employee’s potential for meeting current and future job requirements.

The Employer commits to developing a highly skilled and flexible workforce, providing Employees with career opportunities through relevant and appropriate training to acquire additional skills and to enhance their skills in existing and new technologies where such training is to the benefit of the Employer.

The Contractor acknowledges that the Government of British Columbia has introduced a policy with respect to apprentice engagement and reporting on certain large construction infrastructure projects, namely the “Apprentices on Public Projects in British Columbia, Policy & Procedure Guidelines” dated for reference July 2015 (the “Apprentices Policy”). The Contractor further acknowledges that this Contract falls within the scope of the Apprentices Policy. Notwithstanding the date the Contract was procured, the Contractor will comply with the Apprentices Policy, as amended from time to time, as if the Contract was procured after the effective date of the Apprentices Policy, including without limitation the following requirements:
