Training and Retraining. (a) The Burnaby School Board shall offer training to employees which will provide a working knowledge of office procedures, keyboarding skills, standard office equipment and standardized computer applications. Cost of such training shall be borne by the employer.
Training and Retraining. (a) Where an employee undertakes a course of training/retraining at the request of the employer, such training shall not result in the loss of any ordinary time earnings by the employee and shall wherever possible be conducted in the employer's time.

Contractors covered by the terms of this Agreement agree to pay to the Laborers' Training and Retraining Trust Fund for Southern California the sum designated in Attachment #1 of this Agreement for each hour worked or paid for on all classifications contained in this Agreement.
Training and Retraining. You may be required to complete training/retraining on an on- going basis. In these cases you will not lose out on your ordinary time earnings and wherever possible the training/retraining will be conducted during normal work time. However, if we require you to do training/retraining at a time either partially or wholly outside your ordinary working hours (including Saturdays and Sundays, but excluding public holidays) then we will pay you at normal time. In this case you will not be required to attend training/retraining for more than: • 4 hours on any week day • 8 hours on any Saturday or Sunday, and • 5 days in any one year of employment. We will pay all approved costs associated with your training/retraining.
Training and Retraining. The training activities of CompBioMed are considered as important players in the engagement of communities and stakeholders, so that they can create awareness about developments and services. During CompBioMed1 there was an effort to provide visibility to a comprehensive set of courses and different activities organized by the partners: the outcomes have been reflected in the initial version of the CompBioMed training repository and the organization of regular webinars every year quarter. In order to provide further impact, CompBioMed2 training efforts have been defined in two separate tasks: training for computational biomedicine and advanced HPC training. This specification of two training tasks provides the necessary focus to go beyond the existing activities and cover a wider range of topics, so that different communities are reached, and the gaps can be filled by the contents provided by different CompBioMed partners (and possibly the collaboration of external stakeholders). As a general rule, the goals are set to define new and/or improve existing training activities, which may be categorized as biomedical, computational or hybrid according to their contents. Training courses aim at providing specialized knowledge with eminently practical approaches, and as a complement for outreach, the regular series of webinars are kept as open windows to show the work and achievements of CompBioMed partners and collaborators.
Training and Retraining. 31.01 In the event that the Employer should introduce new equipment, machines, apparatus or processes which require new or greater skills than are possessed by the employee affected, such employee shall be given a reasonable length of time, but such time period is not to exceed six months, during which time she may acquire the necessary skills. There shall be no reduction in this employee's rate of pay during the training period and no reduction of pay upon being reclassified in the new position.   • Retraining Leave a. The University President, at her/his discretion, may grant a retraining leave to an employee for the purpose of acquiring new skills or enhancing existing skills for the benefit of the University.

  • Medical Leave Pursuant to applicable provisions of the Civil Service Rules, County Code, and other law, medical leaves of absence will be granted by the employee’s Department Head upon request only upon submission of a doctor’s certificate or other satisfactory medical evidence of the employee’s need for such leave.

  • Employee Health and Safety A. When the University requires an employee to use or wear health or safety equipment, such equipment will be provided by the University.

  • OCCUPATIONAL SAFETY AND HEALTH The parties desire to deal with safety and health complaints, and to attempt to correct any health or safety violations, internally. Accordingly, neither the Association nor an employee may file a complaint alleging a health or safety violation with the Ohio Department of Industrial Relations pursuant to R.C. §4167.10 until the following process has been completely exhausted:

  • Family Care and Medical Leave An unpaid Family Care and Medical Leave shall be granted, to the extent of and subject to the restrictions as set forth below, to an employee who has been employed for at least twelve (12) months and who has served for one hundred thirty days (130) workdays during the twelve (12) months immediately preceding the effective date of the leave. For purposes of this section, furlough days and days worked during off-basis time shall count as "workdays". Family Care and Medical Leave absences of twenty (20) consecutive working days or less can be granted by the immediate administrator or designee. Leaves of twenty (20) or more consecutive working days can be granted only by submission of a formal leave application to the Classified Personnel Assignments Branch.

  • Occupational Safety and Health Acts Contractor(s) who perform any work under this contract shall fully comply with the provisions of the Federal Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970 and any amendments thereto and regulations pursuant to the act. Any Contractor who fails to do so may be terminated for cause as set forth below.

  • Retraining (a) Where a skill shortage is identified, the employer may offer a surplus employee retraining to meet that skill shortage with financial assistance up to the maintenance of full salary plus appropriate training expenses. It may not be practical to offer retraining to some employees identified as surplus. The employer needs to make decisions on the basis of cost, the availability of appropriate training schemes and the suitability of individuals for retraining.

  • Fair Employment Practices and Americans with Disabilities Act Party agrees to comply with the requirement of Title 21V.S.A. Chapter 5, Subchapter 6, relating to fair employment practices, to the full extent applicable. Party shall also ensure, to the full extent required by the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990, as amended, that qualified individuals with disabilities receive equitable access to the services, programs, and activities provided by the Party under this Agreement. Party further agrees to include this provision in all subcontracts.

  • Family and Medical Leave 16.1 A. Consistent with the federal Family and Medical Leave Act of 1993 (FMLA) and any amendments thereto and the Washington State Family Leave Act of 2006 (WFLA), an employee who has worked for the state for at least twelve (12) months and for at least one thousand two hundred fifty (1,250) hours during the twelve (12) months prior to the requested leave is entitled to up to twelve (12) workweeks of family medical leave in a twelve (12) month period for one or more of the following reasons 1 - 4:
