TRAINING AND EDUCATIONAL LEAVE. 24.01 The Employer agrees to provide time off with pay for the purpose of attending approved courses or conferences for education as it pertains to the employee's present job. It is further agreed that this is restricted to resources available and operating requirements of the Centre.

TRAINING AND EDUCATIONAL LEAVE. 33.01 When the Hospital deems it necessary to train part-time or casual employees to perform duties that may allow them to be available for additional work in the department, the training will be with pay and will be offered in descending order of seniority to the qualified employees in the classification to be trained.

The Employer shall establish training courses as it sees fit, which shall be sufficient to allow the employees reasonable opportunities to upgrade their knowledge and skills. Notice of these courses shall be posted for a period of two weeks on bulletin boards to afford interested employees an opportunity to apply for such training. The notice shall contain information setting out the type of course, the time, duration and location of the course, and the basic minimum qualifications required for applicants. The senior qualified applicant shall be selected. Such assistance shall be restricted to financial resources and shall include tuition fees, and may include other incidental expenses.
