Trading Time. All employees shall be permitted to voluntarily trade off-duty and shift time for personal reasons with the approval of the Chief of Police or his or her designee. Traded time shall be mutually agreeable, in writing and shall state the specific time and dates of trades, which shall be within the pay period in effect during the request. Reasonable requests for trading time will be allowed as long as the trade does not create or result in overtime status.
Trading Time. 8.16.1 With approval of an appropriate supervisor, or his/her designee the trading of hours between employees may occur without overtime liability to the State.
Trading Time. In those situations where the University will not incur an overtime obligation and the Executive Director of Public Safety’s discretion, or their designee may approve, employees to trade individual work days or work shifts.
Trading Time. 19.1 A written substitute request must be approved by the shift supervisor, if longer than 1 (one) hour in duration. If the substitution is to be 1 (one) hour or less it shall not be required to comply with 19.3, but must be verbally approved by the shift supervisor.

An employee will be permitted to trade shifts or days off with another qualified employee within the same classification provided that the trade does not result in the payment of overtime or interfere with the orderly operations of the City. Three (3) days advance written notice of the trade will be provided to the City, except in cases of unforeseen emergency where the three (3) day notice period may be waived by the City. Trades will not involve more than two (2) employees and no additional trades will be permitted until the original trade is repaid. All trades must be repaid within the same pay period.
Trading Time. Employees will be allowed practices of “trading time” and/or “early relief” with approval of the Fire Chief or Deputy Fire Chief. In the event the Chief or Deputy Fire Chief are not available, the Shift Captain shall have the authority to give the approval. The application of this Article shall not result in the payment of overtime compensation to employees who trade time or are provided early relief.
Trading Time. The policy of allowing corrections deputies and correction shift leaders to trade days and shifts by mutual agreement shall be continued; provided, however, trading shall not cost the Employer overtime and must be paid back within the calendar year in which the trade is made.
Trading Time. Dispatchers may trade time with other Dispatchers in the IAFF bargaining unit under the following conditions:

Time voluntarily traded shall in no circumstances create or result in overtime status and approval or denial of trade requests shall not be subject to the grievance procedure.
Trading Time. Employees covered by this agreement shall have the right to trade time with other employees with the approval of the Fire Chief or his designee. Trading time is available after all other leave time has been expended by the employee requesting the trade. If an employee fails to show up for a shift he has agreed to work for another employee, the employee who fails to meet his obligation shall lose his trading privileges for a period of 6 months.
