Tradesperson. Tradespersons will take technical orders only from MTL or management, including written orders. Technical orders are defined as orders requiring specific technical knowledge or qualification on how to perform the task.
Tradesperson. (a) An employee who is not employed under a trades job title referenced in Common Provisions Appendix A, but is required to perform a trade task which is restricted by code and which they are certified to do, will receive the applicable trade rate of base pay for such work.

An employee remains at this level until they are capable of effectively performing through assessment or appropriate certification the tasks required of this function so as to enable them to progress to the next level as a position becomes available. A maintenance tradesperson • Understands and applies quality control techniques; • Exercises good interpersonal and communication; • Competent keyboard skills; • Exercises discretion within the scope of this grade; • Performs work either individually or in a team environment under minimal supervision; • Operates lifting equipment incidental to his/her work; • Performs non-trade tasks incidental to his/her work; • Performs work, which while primarily involving the skills of the employee's trade is incidental or peripheral to the primary task and facilitates the completion of the whole task. Such incidental work would not require additional formal technical training; and • Able to inspect products and/or materials for conformity with established operational standards
Tradesperson. A person employed as a Mechanical Tradesperson and has been approved by the relevant Site Manager to be a Mechanical Tradesperson. A Mechanical Tradesperson holds one or more qualifications that are applicable to the work environment, such as Fitting and Fabrication/Boilermaking trade certifications. This person is employed in a multi-skilled role that supports other construction personnel, where from time to time they can be expected to undertake tasks that are outside their core skill basis.
Tradesperson. This category covers trade related activities, which are aimed at ensuring that the structural and mechanical components of the plant and equipment are kept in acceptable working condition. The employee is required to hold a relevant trade qualification and exhibit skills, which include the ability to: ▪ Perform and assist, where required, in all duties of skill levels Operator 1, 2 and 3 and all trade related duties within this skill level. ▪ Move all mobile types of machinery and equipment to and from the workshop area. ▪ Identify and provide the lubrication needs of all operating equipment. ▪ Identify and correct any malfunctioning of the equipment. ▪ Remove, repair or replace worn or failed components of the equipment. ▪ Identify and repair damage to the structural components of the plant. ▪ Accurately report the maintenance history of the plant and equipment. ▪ Perform other work consistent with the foregoing activities, which requires a similar level of understanding and skill. ▪ Maintain working stock of spare parts and lubrication materials. ▪ Decision making of repair or replacement of components up to a value as determined by the Company. ▪ Provide instruction as required to skill levels Operator 1, 2 and 3.
