Trade Days. Faculty may request that non-contracted days be substituted for regularly-scheduled contracted days to perform College- and class-related work. The faculty and the ▇▇▇▇ will agree on the work to be done and the contract days to be traded.
Trade Days. To make a switch with another employee covering scheduled work days, both employees are to fill out a Request for Trade Days form, which is to be dated by the Shift Supervisor. The Administration reserves the right to approve or disapprove all requests for trade days, with such decisions only being made by the Executive Director or full-time supervisor. If the Executive Director or full-time supervisor is not scheduled on a specific date, Monday through Friday, then approval can be delegated to the supervisor on duty for that day. Whenever an employee calls off on a trade day, he/she shall not be permitted to trade days for two (2) months. The Executive Director will review any denial of a Trade Day on written request by any bargaining unit member and the Executive Director will inform the member of his/her decision.
Trade Days. Upon the prior approval of the shift supervisors, employees shall be allowed by mutual agreement to trade days off on the same shifts, or shifts within the same week, where the employees are assigned different shifts, subject to the approval of the Chief of Police or Safety Director, which approval shall not be unreasonably withheld. The present practice regarding the exchange of shift schedules shall be maintained, provided no mandatory overtime payments are involved.

Trade Days. Personnel who have a need for trade days and who can meet the provisions of the below guidelines may file a “Trade day” request with their respective Division Lieutenant or his/her Designee. The Division Lieutenant/Designee shall be responsible to screen all trade day requests. Said request shall be granted or denied based on but not limited to the following criteria: A. Employees in like classification will be permitted to trade between each other any authorized days off, or one (1) of their off days in each group. An authorized day is defined as an eight and one quarter (8¼) hour shift within a twenty-four hour period. Trade days shall not be granted between sworn and non-sworn personnel, investigative and uniform personnel, or dispatch and non-dispatch personnel. B. Request for a trade day will be made in writing prior to the trade occurring. C. Employees will not be permitted to trade shifts unless a minimum of eight (8) hours separates the hours of work. D. Probationary employees will not be permitted this opportunity unless all necessary training has been completed so as to allow the employee to work without the direct supervision of a field-training officer, and that the employee is counted for minimum staffing. E. Officers will be allowed to utilize trade days prior to use of compensatory time. F. Trades are not limited to 8.25-hour shifts, but include the ability to trade partial shifts and hours, as is the past practice of the Department. G. No trades involving either a partial or whole shift shall be approved which would cause an officer to work in excess of 12.25 hours consecutively.
Trade Days. Employees shall generally be allowed to trade days regardless of shift upon written notification to the Director or his designee. All such proposed trades shall be by mutual agreement between the trading employees and submitted a minimum of one (1) day in advance of the trade. Absent disapproval by the Director as a consequence of operational need, requests will be honored. In addition, the Director may disapprove of trading to any employee who does not honor the agreed terms of traded work periods. Trades must be completed within a pay period. No overtime shall accrue or be paid as a consequence of trades.
