Common use of Time Off Without Pay Clause in Contracts

Time Off Without Pay. An employee may take up to a maximum of five (5) working days off without pay per year (July 1 – June 30) with the approval of the Director of Facilities. Unpaid days may be taken in half day or full day units, separately or consecutively. A request for unpaid days beyond five (5) shall be processed through the Director of Facilities to the Director of Human Resources. The Director of Human Resources, at his/her discretion, may grant or deny such request upon his/her determination that extenuating circumstances exist and that no substantial or material disruption will occur in school operations as a result of such extended unpaid leave. Paid benefits days (i.e. vacation, personal business) must be used before requesting unpaid days.
