The XxXxxxx County Emergency Management Agency. The MCEMA operates under the day-to-day control of the XxXxxxx County Board and is responsible for developing the county-wide emergency preparedness plan. The XxXxxxx County Emergency Management Agency’s plan addresses major hazards and coordinates disaster response of all resources including communications, police, fire and rescue units, and hospitals, religious and charitable organizations. The emergency plan is exercised regularly by conducting exercises that deal with simulated nuclear accidents, flooding, hazardous material spills, and severe weather. During periods of disaster and major emergencies, the MCEMA acts as the primary liaison to the Illinois Emergency Management Agency (I.E.M.A.) and Federal Emergency Management Agency (F.E.M.A.). As a part of emergency preparedness, the MCEMA maintains an updated emergency resources database of items and facilities that could be of use during disaster response. The agency also provides emergency planning assistance to local governments and has an active program of safety literature distribution to the general public.

An employee who has a positive alcohol test and/or a positive controlled substance test may be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including dismissal, based on the incident that prompted the testing, including a violation of the drug and alcohol free work place rules.

  • Occupational Health & Safety Committee The parties agree to comply with the Occupational Health and Safety Act and any other federal, provincial or municipal health and safety legislation and regulations. Recognizing its responsibilities under the applicable legislation, the Employer agrees to accept as a member of its Occupational Health and Safety Committee, one representative selected or appointed by the Association from the bargaining unit. Such committee shall identify potential dangers and hazards, institute means of improving health and safety programs and recommend actions to be taken to improve conditions relating to occupational health and safety. Meetings shall be held every third month or more frequently if mutually agreed. The Committee shall maintain minutes of all meetings and make the same available for review.
