The Sabbatical and Educational Leave Committee. 18.05.1 The Sabbatical and Educational Leave Committee (the committee) shall be convened annually by the second week of October in order to review applications and prepare recommendations to be submitted to the President of the Institute by the end of October. All applications must be submitted by 1 September of the academic year prior to the intended sabbatical leave.
The Sabbatical and Educational Leave Committee. 18.05.2 The committee shall be composed of the following:  the Vice President Academic (as Chairperson);  the Xxxx;  three Regular Faculty Members chosen by the Faculty Association;  one Board member elected by the Board from Ministry appointments;  two external members from other institutions, appointed by the President, or designate (the external members of the Committee shall have expertise related to the positions of Non-Teaching Faculty Members when assessing such applications).

  • Sabbatical Leave Committee Shall consist of the following:

  • Paid Educational Leave a. An employee may request special paid leave at straight-time hourly rate which may be granted employees for educational purposes which will benefit the State by adding to or strengthening employee skills or knowledge and to allow employees to attend approved conferences, professional meetings and workshops.

  • Educational Leave of Absence Leaves of absence may be granted up to six (6) months under the above provisions only if the course would be beneficial to both the University and the employee.

  • Educational Leave Leave without pay may be granted for educational leave for the duration of actual attendance in an educational program.

  • Unpaid Educational Leave After one (1) year of continuous employment, permission shall be granted for leave of absence for a maximum of one (1) year without pay for study, without loss of accrued benefits.

  • Occupational Health & Safety Committee The parties agree to comply with the Occupational Health and Safety Act and any other federal, provincial or municipal health and safety legislation and regulations. Recognizing its responsibilities under the applicable legislation, the Employer agrees to accept as a member of its Occupational Health and Safety Committee, one representative selected or appointed by the Association from the bargaining unit. Such committee shall identify potential dangers and hazards, institute means of improving health and safety programs and recommend actions to be taken to improve conditions relating to occupational health and safety. Meetings shall be held every third month or more frequently if mutually agreed. The Committee shall maintain minutes of all meetings and make the same available for review.

  • Paid Education Leave The Company agrees to pay into a special fund, one (1¢) cent per hour per employee for all compensated hours for the purpose of providing paid education leave. Such leave will be for upgrading the employee skills in all aspects of trade union functions. Such monies to be paid on a quarterly basis into a trust fund established by the National Union, CAW, effective from date of ratification and sent by the Company to the following address: CAW Paid Education Leave Program, 000 Xxxxxx Xxxxx, Xxxxx Xxxx, Xxxxxxx X0X 0X0.

  • Professional and Education Leaves (a) Leave of absence with pay or without pay may be granted to employees to attend professional and educational meetings, courses, or other events which may be judged beneficial to the employee's professional development, especially as it relates to her responsibilities with the Employer.

  • Health Insurance Committee The UFF-USF-GAU President will appoint one (1) employee to serve on the University's Student Health Insurance Committee.

  • Employment Relations Education Leave 26.1 The Employer shall grant leave on pay for employees party to this MECA to attend courses authorised by NZNO to facilitate the employee’s education and training as employee representatives in the workplace.
