The existing building is a 36,000 square foot, two-story, flat-roofed brick and limestone structure. The project work would include interior renovation of the existing building to include city hall offices, meeting rooms and city council xxxxxxxx. The renovation work would also include community center meeting and activity rooms. Improvements to the building would include a new HVAC system, new exterior windows, improved integration of technology, improved accessibility, updated interior finishes, a catering kitchen and improved signage/wayfinding. Site improvements include an updated playground, plaza space, potential for public art, and a potential shared plaza/greenspace with the library. Additionally, the schematic design of the project will consider the conversion of Chauncey Avenue into a pedestrian plaza and greenspace between the Xxxxxx Community Center and the West Lafayette Public Library.
