Common use of The Application and Approval Process Clause in Contracts

The Application and Approval Process. Teachers who plan to take a professional day must procure, on a prescribed form, prior written approval of the Superintendent or his/her designee. Application forms will be provided in each school upon request. These forms are to be submitted to the principal and program supervisor (where appropriate), who in turn will submit them to the Superintendent's Office. All forms must be received at least ten school days prior to the requested day. Any request(s) not meeting this deadline may be forwarded to the Superintendent or his/her designee for consideration on an individual basis. If the requested day complies with his/her individual Professional Development Plan, School Improvement Plan or District Plan, the request will be approved by the Superintendent and a copy of the form returned to the applicant as notification of approval. If the requested day is outside the established guidelines, the application will be returned to the appropriate principal or supervisor for resolution. Consideration of any proposal for professional development shall adhere to the following guidelines:
