Test Pits. This work will be measured for payment by the actual number of vertical linear feet excavated, measured from the existing ground surface to the bottom of the accepted test pit. Test pit depth shall be measured to the nearest half foot. • This work will be paid for at the contract unit price each for "Test Pits" of the specified excavation method, including all tools, material and equipment needed to excavate the test pit, backfill the area and patch the pavement (when present) and all other work incidental thereto. Fractions of a foot shall be paid at the fractional portion of the unit price. • If a test pit is excavated and no water main is found, the test pit will be considered unsuccessful and abandoned and the Contractor will be paid for the test pit at the contract unit price. No additional measurement or payment will be made for the widening of the excavation as described above. • If the Engineer or Inspector directs the Contractor to widening a test pit more than 50% of its original size, the original excavation will be considered 1 test pit with a depth measured for payment and the additional excavation will be considered as a second test pit and have its actual depth measured separately for payment.
Test Pits. The explorations will gather subsurface stratigraphy information and inform geotechnical analyses and project design efforts. - Geotechnical Explorations: ENGEO coordinated with a subsurface drilling contractor to perform 2 sonic explorations (completed late September) and contracted a backhoe operator to perform 6 test pits (schedule to be completed October 2021).
Test Pits a) Test Pits are conducted within the proposed AD 4.1 & AD 4.2 areas, the AWRD and the AWTD.
Test Pits. A. Test pits shall be dug at the locations selected and to the dimensions directed by the Owner, to establish locations of existing pipelines or any other buried item for which the exact location is to be determined.
Test Pits. Test pits are conducted for the verification of existing geotechnical works as well as in areas containing associated infrastructural works (as defined by the basic design within this scope of works). Excavation and supervision of minimum of 20 test pits. The number of test pits may be amended upon ground assessment and/or basic design input. Test pits are excavated to 5.0m. From previous geotechnical investigations, soft to medium hard rock may be encountered within the area therefore plant selection must suit the prevalent ground conditions. All the test pits are profiled by an engineering geologist/ geotechnical engineer according toGuidelines for Soil and Rock Logging in SA, 2nd Impression’ (Brink and Bruin, 2002). All test pits are reinstated using the soil removed from pits following completion of soil profiling and sampling. Reinstated soils are adequately compacted to minimize differential settlements. The Consultant must take reasonable and sufficient steps in order to prevent, as far as is reasonably practicable, any person from being buried or trapped by a fall or dislodgement of material in an excavation; may not require or permit any person to work in an excavation which has not been adequately shored or braced as stipulated in Section 13 of Reference [12]. DYNAMIC PROBE SUPER HEAVY DPSH tests are conducted for the verification of existing geotechnical works as well as in areas containing associated infrastructural works (as defined by the basic design within this scope of works). A minimum of 20 tests are conducted.
Test Pits. A. Test pits for the purpose of locating underground utilities or structures as an aid in establishing the precise location of new work may be excavated by the Contractor. Test pits shall be backfilled as soon as the desired information has been obtained. The backfilled surface shall be maintained in a satisfactory condition for travel until resurfaced as hereinafter specified.

Related to Test Pits

  • Test The outer surface of the lamp lenses shall be subjected once or more than once to the action of the sand jet produced as described above. The jet shall be sprayed almost perpendicular to the surface to be tested. The deterioration shall be checked by means of one or more samples of glass placed as a reference near the lenses to be tested. The mixture shall be sprayed until the variation in the diffusion of light on the sample or samples measured by the method described in Appendix 2, is such that: Δ d = (T5 - T4) / T2 ≤ 0.0250 ± 0.0025 Several reference samples may be used to check that the whole surface to be tested has deteriorated homogeneously. Annex 6 - Appendix 4

  • Meter Testing Company shall provide at least twenty-four (24) hours' notice to Seller prior to any test it may perform on the revenue meters or metering equipment. Seller shall have the right to have a representative present during each such test. Seller may request, and Company shall perform, if requested, tests in addition to the every fifth-year test and Seller shall pay the cost of such tests. Company may, in its sole discretion, perform tests in addition to the fifth year test and Company shall pay the cost of such tests. If any of the revenue meters or metering equipment is found to be inaccurate at any time, as determined by testing in accordance with this Section 10.2 (Meter Testing), Company shall promptly cause such equipment to be made accurate, and the period of inaccuracy, as well as an estimate for correct meter readings, shall be determined in accordance with Section 10.3 (Corrections).

  • Statistical Sampling Documentation a. A copy of the printout of the random numbers generated by the “Random Numbers” function of the statistical sampling software used by the IRO.

  • Technical Requirements for SCPs/Databases 10.5.3.1 BellSouth shall provide physical access to SCPs through the SS7 network and protocols with TCAP as the application layer protocol.

  • Test procedures For an Asset Review, the Asset Representations Reviewer will perform for each Asset Review Receivable the procedures listed under “Procedures to be Performed” in Schedule A for each representation and warranty (each, a “Test”), using the Asset Review Materials listed for each such Test in Schedule A. For each Test and Asset Review Receivable, the Asset Representations Reviewer will determine if the Test has been satisfied (a “Test Pass”) or if the Test has not been satisfied (a “Test Fail”).

  • Test procedure The engine speed shall be gradually increased from idle to the target engine speed, not exceeding the tolerance band of ±3 per cent of the target engine speed, and held constant. Then the throttle control shall be rapidly released and the engine speed shall be returned to idle. The sound pressure level shall be measured during a period of operation consisting of a maintaining constant engine speed of 1 second and throughout the entire deceleration period. The maximum sound level meter reading during this period of operation, mathematically rounded to the first decimal place, is taken as the test value.

  • Hybrid Loop A Loop composed of both fiber optic cable and copper wire or cable. An FTTP Loop is not a Hybrid Loop.

  • Test requirements 3.1. The limits apply throughout the frequency range 30 to 1,000 MHz for measurements performed in a semi anechoic chamber or an outdoor test site.

  • Random Testing Notwithstanding any provisions of the Collective Agreement or any special agreements appended thereto, section 4.6 of the Canadian Model will not be applied by agreement. If applied to a worker dispatched by the Union, it will be applied or deemed to be applied unilaterally by the Employer. The Union retains the right to grieve the legality of any imposition of random testing in accordance with the Grievance Procedure set out in this Collective Agreement.
