Temporary Military Service a. Requests for leave for military service should be submitted to the Office of Human Resources and will be approved in compliance with current federal law/regulation. Eligible employees will also receive up to fifteen (15) days of paid leave per year for military training.

Temporary Military Service. All employees who are members of the military or naval establishments of the United States or the State of Maryland shall be granted leave of absence on those days during which they are engaged in any military or naval duty to which they are ordered by proper authority. A copy of said order must be submitted to the immediate supervisor. This leave shall not exceed fifteen calendar days in any year. Employees shall not suffer loss of pay for the workdays included in such leave.

Leave with no loss of pay for a maximum of fifteen (15) working days in any calendar year may be granted to teachers called into emergency temporary active duty of any federal or state military unit, provided such obligation cannot be fulfilled on days when school is not in session.

The Board agrees to intervene with higher military authorities in an effort to assist the employee who is attempting to comply with this stipulation. It is the intention of the parties that employees shall not serve temporary voluntary military duty during the periods that school is in session.

  • Temporary Military Leave An employee who is a member of the reserve corps of the Armed Forces of the United States or of the National Guard or of the Naval Militia shall be granted a Temporary Military Leave while engaged in military duty ordered for the purposes of military training, drills, encampment, naval cruises, special exercises or like activity as such member providing that the period of ordered duty does not exceed one hundred eighty (180) calendar days including time involved in going to and returning from such duty.
