Temporary Military. Time necessary for persons called into temporary active duty of any unit of the U.S. Reserves or the State National Guard. An employee shall be paid his/her regular pay in addition to any pay which he/she received from the state or federal government.

Temporary Military. The teacher who is a member of a reserve component of the U.S. Armed Forces or of the National Guard shall be granted temporary military leave on all days during which the teacher is ordered to training duty, as distinguished from active duty, with troops, or at field exercises, or for instruction. Temporary military leave may not exceed sixteen and one-half (16-1/2) working days in any one calendar year. Temporary military leave shall be granted only upon the written request of the appropriate military authority stating the reasons why the service cannot be fulfilled outside of normal workdays. A copy of the request and the military orders shall be filed with the Superintendent prior to the commencement of leave. The teacher shall promptly remit to the District any salary received from the military for the leave period, or the teacher may elect to retain the salary received from the military and be on non-compensated leave status with the District.
