Technical Officers. Schools can request and call upon specific Technical Officers to visit site to investigate or discuss building, mechanical and electrical related issues by contacting initially the Sandwell Property Care Contact Centre on 0000 000 0000 or where a surveyor/engineer is dealing with and existing issue then they may be contacted directly. In dealing with requests for advice or investigations to be carried out relating to building, mechanical or electrical services the following requirements and standards will be complied with: – Surveyors/engineers will be required to be mindful and responsive, within the resources available, of the needs of schools in respect of repair and maintenance issues. – Required response times, by a surveyor/engineer, to visit site to provide advice or investigate an issue on site will be set, provided and monitored. – Prior to leaving site, following a visit to discuss or investigate site issues a “Site Visit Record” form will be issued by a surveyor/engineer which will record the description and location of the work involved, observations/recommendations of the surveyor/engineer, the actions required/agreed and agreed timescales for implementation and completion of required/agreed actions. – Where, following a request from a school, for work to be undertaken it is determined that such work has to be deferred then the school will be notified by the surveyor/engineer in writing of the reasons for the deferment and the future actions likely to be taken. Where a school identifies that such requirements and standards are not being met or adhered to they are requested to inform the Sandwell Property Care Contact Centre on 0000 000 0000 where details will be taken and the matter investigated and action taken where found to be necessary. It is not always possible to allocate a specific surveyor/engineer to deal, on a continuous basis, with the requirements of a particular school, however where a school requires the attendance of a specific surveyor/engineer then every effort will be taken to enable this.

Technical Officers. Electronics Workshop staff employed in the Technical Officers - Electronics classification prior to 5 August 2003 The provisions of this clause apply to Technical Officers - Electronics only. The flextime bandwidth shall be from 6am to 6pm, Monday to Friday. This provision will contribute to productivity measures in the Workshops and is in recognition of the fact that Technical Officers do not receive shift penalty payments. Notwithstanding Clause 8.1.2 in this Schedule, flextime may be worked outside the bandwidth stipulated where an employee and ACTION so agree. Starting and finishing times within the bandwidth shall be arranged in a manner consistent with demonstrated maintenance requirements, following appropriate consultation. An employee must not work for longer than five hours without a break for a meal of a minimum of thirty minutes. The maximum time to be worked in any day is twelve hours. An employee may accrue up to a maximum of 38 hours as a result of flextime in any settlement period and may not have an accrual in excess of 38 hours at the conclusion of any settlement period. This may be varied by agreement between the employer and the employee. The maximum flex debit an employee may accrue during a settlement period is 10 hours. This may be varied by agreement between the employer and the employee. Any debits in excess of 10 hours at the end of the settlement period will be deducted in accordance with overpayment procedures, unless agreed otherwise between the employer and the employee. A settlement period shall comprise two pay periods. Paid leave accrued as a result of flextime shall be taken at such times and in such a period or periods as are agreed between the employee and ACTION. Hours of work arrangements shall be in accordance with operational requirements and occupational health and safety principles. In determining hours of work, the personal needs and family responsibilities of employees must be given consideration. Overtime shall be paid where an employee is directed to perform work beyond 7 hours and 36 minutes on any day.   • Field Training Officers The position of Field Training Officer (FTO) shall be held by a Trooper or Sergeant who most closely meets the requirements set forth by the Employer which are outlined in policy OSP-501.08. If the Employer determines there are an insufficient number of qualified volunteers, it may appoint other individuals to be FTOs. The District Commander shall make the final selections. A supplement of eight hundred dollars ($800.00) shall be given to all FTOs for the sixty (60) working day training period.
