Team Selection. Team Selection: The Upper School teams are primarily made up of students from 9-12th grade. Students that have reached the seventh grade may play “lifetime sports” and on Junior Varsity teams, while students who have reached the eighth may participate on Varsity teams provided their talents meet that level of merit and the coach feels they will contribute and participate in a meaningful manner. The differences in size, skill, and physical maturity can be markedly different. It is the goal of the Athletic Department to provide each student with the best possible means to improve their skills and knowledge base of their game of choice. To that end, the students may be placed on teams that have differing developmental goals based on the evaluation of the coaching staff for that activity. We often offer a Junior Varsity team that is meant to maximize practice time in order to develop skills while providing an abbreviated schedule in which to put these skills to use. Coaches of Junior Varsity teams are looking to give players as much playing time as possible in order to evaluate the players’ progress in making drilled skills into habitual skills. In some cases there are limits in terms of facilities, coaching availability, or other resource issues that mandate smaller rosters. In these cases selections are made and the students who are not selected for the team are strongly encouraged to find another activity for the season in question. The selection process involves the coach for that sport in consultation with the athletic director. It is an extensive and difficult task for everyone involved. There are limits to the time available to make these selections depending on the season and other non-athletic factors that may be involved. However, every effort is made to give each child strong consideration prior to making selections for each team. Schedules: Due to several factors (ie: number of teams in the league, availability of certified officials, and availability of facilities), different teams’ schedules may vary. Following the final selection session, each coach will be responsible for giving out his/her schedule of practices. Coaches of developmental teams are looking to give players as much instruction as possible to prepare those athletes for future participation on the travel teams. In some cases there are limits in terms of facilities, coaching availability, or other resource issues that mandate smaller rosters. In these cases selections are made and the students who are not selected for the team are permitted to find another activity for the season in question. Sometimes these switches are limited to programs that can offer space on their rosters. The selection process involves the coach for that sport in consultation with the Athletic Director. It is an extensive and difficult task for everyone involved. There are limits to the time available to make these selections depending on the season and other non-athletic factors that may be involved. However, every effort is made to give each child strong consideration prior to making selections for each team.

  • Vacation Selection Beginning January 2 of each calendar year, employees will be scheduled a time, based on seniority, to select up to three (3) segments of available vacation leave during the time period of April 1 through March 31. A “segment” is one (1) or more contiguous days of vacation leave. No segment shall include more than ten (10) consecutive days of vacation leave in June, July, and/or August, provided that an employee may select contiguous segments of vacation leave. Each employee will be guaranteed one (1) scheduled workweek of vacation leave if requested as one of their segments. Off-shift times to select a vacation will not be considered as “time worked” for purposes of computing callback or overtime. If an employee is unable to be present during their scheduled time they may make their choice by telephone, email, or another individual with written documentation of designation, may select a vacation segment(s) for the employee. If the employee fails to select their vacation during their assigned time, the Employer may proceed with scheduling. The employee will be provided an opportunity to select their segment(s) at a later date when they are available. The Employer will publish the vacation schedule by March 1, after considering requests, as well as Agency program needs. Employees will complete a Leave Request Form no less than thirty (30) days prior to any approved vacation segment taken.

If SAMHSA chooses not to award a fundable application in accordance with 45 CFR 75.205(a)(2), SAMHSA must report that determination to the designated integrity and performance system accessible through the System for Award Management (XXX) [currently, FAPIIS]. You may review and comment on any information about your organization that a federal awarding agency previously entered. XXXXXX will consider your comments, in addition to other information in FAPIIS in making a judgment about your organization’s integrity, business ethics, and record of performance under federal awards when completing the review of risk posed as described in 45 CFR 75.205 HHS Awarding Agency Review of Risk by Applicants.
