Teaching Professor. 11.5.1 Appointment at the Rank of Teaching Professor with Tenure Appointment at the rank of Teaching Professor is made with tenure. The workload assignment and study leave of a Teaching Professor with tenure are the same as those of a Senior Instructor with a continuing appointment. The title of Teaching Professor with tenure normally does not entitle a Member to a term free of teaching.
Teaching Professor. Promotion to Teaching Professor shall require a terminal degree in the appropriate discipline and shall follow a comprehensive review in the fourth year as Association Teaching Professor with demonstrated excellence in teaching effectiveness and student advising. Effective at the beginning of the fifth year after promotion to Associate Teaching Professor, an Associate Teaching Professor, who has shown excellence in teaching and advising, and effective service contributions, and has been on continuous appointments as an Assistant Teaching Professor and Associate Teaching Professor, may be recommended by the Chair and/or Xxxx to become a Teaching Professor with an initial six (6) year contract and possible six-year reappointments. Should a faculty member who possesses a terminal degree be hired at the Associate Teaching Professor level, they shall be eligible for promotion to Teaching Professor after four (4) years with promotion effective beginning with the fifth year, unless credit is given toward promotion at the time of hire, normally not to exceed two (2) years. The promotional procedure to Teaching Professor shall be evidence based. The eligible Associate Teaching Professor shall compile and submit by February 1 a dossier to the Chair (or Xxxx in colleges without departments) that includes a teaching, advising, and service portfolio that follows the Office of the Xxxxxxx promotional format and University’s Student Evaluations of Teaching. The Department shall conduct a peer evaluation for promotion to Teaching Professor. Each tenure- track and tenured faculty, Clinical Professor, and Teaching Professor member shall vote yes, no or abstain on whether to promote to Teaching Professor. The Department Chair shall prepare a written evaluation of each eligible Associate Teaching Professor under consideration. A copy shall be forwarded to the Xxxx of the College by March 15. The second copy shall be given to the Associate Teaching Professor at least five (5) working days to the submission to the Xxxx. The Chairs written evaluation shall include: 1) A statement of the teaching and student advising duties and responsibilities of the individual Associate Teaching Professor for the previous eight (8) years; 2) An evaluation of the quality and quantity of the Associate Teaching Professor’s teaching, student advising, and service contributions provided by departmental peers annually (see review) and an assessment of the submitted teaching portfolio and the Universi...
Teaching Professor. Librarian or Archivist returning from a sabbatical leave shall submit to the Xxxx, within three (3) months of their return, a written report on the results of their scholarly work and action taken to improve academically and professionally during the sabbatical leave period. Such report shall be placed in the Official File of the Teaching Professor, Librarian or Archivist concerned. 31B.17 Teaching Professors, Librarians or Archivists are encouraged to apply for external fellowships for their sabbatical leave. If such external fellowships are awarded, a reduction in the University of New Brunswick support shall not be made.   • Continuing Professional Development The Official Agency shall provide appropriate training for staff performing official controls, enabling them to undertake their duties competently and to carry out official controls in a consistent manner, as per legislative requirements. The Official Agency shall identify training needs for staff performing official controls and ensure that staff carrying out official controls are kept up to date in their area of competence and develop specialised expertise, in partnership with the Authority and other Local Authorities. While the provision of training is the primary responsibility of the Official Agency, the Authority may provide training interventions where the Official Agency has highlighted areas where training is required. The Authority will endeavour to facilitate networking and collaboration with other Official Agencies to assist in improving knowledge in such areas. The Authority will provide e-learning resources and training for official control staff so as to promote a consistent understanding and application of new legislation, guidance or procedures, as appropriate. The Official Agency shall support participants in using e-learning resources, disseminating knowledge or skills acquired and encourage the application of learning gained through the Authority’s training in official control activities. The Official Agency shall ensure that contractors used in the performance of the Service Contract provide evidence of Continuous Professional Development and Compliance with this section. Where staff from the Official Agency need to travel outside the Official Agency functional area to attend training courses/meetings, this shall be facilitated by the Official Agency. The Official Agency in partnership with the Authority shall develop and implement training programmes for all staff engaged in the performance of the Service Contract. Where staff have participated in Better Training for Safer Food (BTSF) the training content shall be disseminated to relevant staff/contractors in the Official Agency and other local authorities in partnership with the Authority.

  • NON-TEACHING DUTIES A. The Committee and the Association agree that a teacher's primary responsibility is to teach. It must be remembered, however, that in addition to that primary purpose there are other responsibilities within the School that must be assumed by teachers. The Committee and the Association recognize that paraeducators, clerical employees are useful and necessary in order to implement teaching. The Committee, having made provisions for paraeducators, will continue to work toward the improvement of this situation.

  • Teaching Load Full teaching assignments shall normally include 12 course credit hours of scheduled teaching per academic quarter. A reassignment of duty, for the equivalent of 3 or 4 credit course, shall be provided during one term of the first academic year to all newly hired tenure track faculty to further their teaching, scholarship and service and to encourage faculty retention. Wherever possible the University will endeavor to arrange teaching schedules that avoid excessive numbers of preparations and recognize evening and/or off-campus assignments. Class sizes will be established and monitored by the appropriate academic xxxx in consultation with division chairs and affected faculty each term. The following equivalencies will be used in determining teaching assignments:

  • Teaching Loads The range of teaching loads, number of preparations and number of pupil contacts required should provide for effective instruction and meaningful teacher-student interaction. DPS and the Association agree to work together to seek increased state funding to decrease class size. The principal shall report to the CSC, after the roster verification process, the number of students in each class and this will be published in the CSC minutes on the school’s website. For the purposes of this section, a “class” shall be defined as any general education, including electives and model one classes. Upon request, after the roster verification process, the District shall provide the Association with the student information management system data regarding class enrollment.

  • TEACHING HOURS AND TEACHING LOAD A. As professionals, teachers are expected to devote to their assignments the time necessary to meet their responsibilities, but they shall not be required to “clock in or clock out” by hours and minutes. Teachers shall indicate their presence for duty by placing their signature and time in the proper column of the faculty “sign-in” roster.

  • Professional Dress In as much as teachers are role models for students, each teacher shall maintain a neat, professional appearance appropriate for his/her specific teaching assignment.
