Teaching Load. Full teaching assignments shall normally include 12 course credit hours of scheduled teaching per academic quarter. A reassignment of duty, for the equivalent of 3 or 4 credit course, shall be provided during one term of the first academic year to all newly hired tenure track faculty to further their teaching, scholarship and service and to encourage faculty retention. Wherever possible the University will endeavor to arrange teaching schedules that avoid excessive numbers of preparations and recognize evening and/or off-campus assignments. Class sizes will be established and monitored by the appropriate academic xxxx in consultation with division chairs and affected faculty each term. The following equivalencies will be used in determining teaching assignments:
Teaching Load. Every effort shall be made at the beginning of the school year or semester to provide for an equitable distribution of regular education students on any grade level or specialized area in the elementary schools and by subject and level in the secondary schools with respect to class size, discipline history, and ability levels. While reasonable efforts should be made to maintain distribution levels as much as possible throughout the year, it is understood that mobility factors and the timely accessibility of student information will impact distribution equity. The school principal, with input from classroom teachers, shall have the authority and the responsibility to provide for the foregoing provisions.
Teaching Load. The weekly teaching load in the high schools shall not exceed twenty-five (25) assigned instructional periods and five (5) unassigned preparation periods, which the teacher will schedule for parent conferences when requested. The weekly teaching load in the 7-8 middle schools shall not exceed five-sixth (5/6) of the weekly instructional time with one-sixth (1/6) of said time being unassigned preparation time which the teacher will schedule for parent conferences when requested. The weekly teaching load in grades 1-6 will include a minimum of two- hundred fifteen (215) minutes of unassigned preparation periods which the teacher will schedule for parent conferences when requested. Any teacher may volunteer for an overload class to relieve student overcrowding in the classroom.
Teaching Load. 11-1 The parties recognize that the number of students, the number of preparations, and the amount of planning time are related to student performance.
Teaching Load. In addition to the Clinical Work Load, Clinical Pharmacy faculty members are expected to teach two (2) semester hours of credit each semester. For classes scheduled to commence during the standard workday, the clinical faculty member shall be compensated for those semester hours of credit taught in excess of two as overtime on the basis of 1/36th per credit hour. For teaching classes commencing after the standard workday (classes commencing at or after 4 p.m.) the clinical faculty member shall be compensated for each semester hour of credit taught as overtime on the basis of l/36th per semester hour of credit.
Teaching Load. 22.3.1 The normal full-time teaching load shall be mutually determined by the Administration, Department Chairperson and faculty member using fifteen (15) lecture equivalency hours plus or minus one (1) lecture equivalent hour (LEH).
Teaching Load. Non-Credit Instructors Contract instructional loads may be annualized. Overloads may be assigned another semester or quarter to offset underloads for any one semester on an hour- for-hour basis.
Teaching Load a. The normal annual full-time workload for instructional faculty will be either 45 CHEs, or 54 contact hours to be averaged over a three-quarter period (typically 15 CHEs or 18 weekly contact hours per quarter).
Teaching Load. 4.4.1 A full-time teaching load consists of approximately fifteen (15) lecture hour equivalents each semester. Each lecture hour taught is equated to one (1) lecture hour equivalent, LHE and each laboratory or activity hour is equated to approximately .83 of a lecture hour equivalent.
Teaching Load. The daily teaching load in the senior high school shall not exceed seven (7) teaching periods and the middle school shall not exceed eight (8) teaching periods. Further, assignment to a supervised study period shall be considered a teaching period for the purpose of the ARTICLE.
