TEACHING HOURS AND TEACHING LOAD. A. The Board and the Association recognize and agree that the teachers' responsibility to their students and their profession generally entails the performance of duties and the expenditure of time beyond the normal working day, but that the teachers are entitled to regular time and work schedules on which they can rely in the ordinary course and which will be fairly and evenly maintained to the extent possible throughout the school system except in emergencies, and without prejudice to voluntary professional service above and beyond contract requirements.
