Teachers of Students with Disabilities. The District recognizes that the assignment of students with disabilities as defined under the provisions of Public Law 94-142 and I.D.E.A. to regular classrooms will impose additional burdens on some teachers. If a student is to be “included” in a regular classroom, all teachers responsible for the education of that student will be involved in discussion and orientation and receive all relevant information and material well prior to when the student is placed in the classroom(s). The District will make every effort to provide special assistance where it has been determined that such assistance is appropriate and feasible. Such assistance may include additional training, smaller class size, additional preparation and shared planning time, supplementary personnel, additional technological equipment, and modified texts and other teaching materials.
