Common use of TEACHER WORK YEAR Clause in Contracts

TEACHER WORK YEAR. A. The school work year for teachers employed on a ten month basis shall not exceed one hundred and eighty-four (184) days. Time for the purpose of professional development, not to exceed two full days, shall be added to the calendar bringing the total to one hundred and eighty-six (186). The days shall not be held during the regularly scheduled school recess and shall be in place at the time of the approval of the calendar by the Board. Full Day Professional Development Days for all teachers will be 8:15-3:15 with one hour for lunch. Professional staff members shall be solicited for content input for such activities. The school calendar shall be distributed to the staff after adoption by the Board.
