Teacher Planning and Preparation. 1. Elementary School Level (P-5) Each elementary school teacher shall be entitled to 240 minutes of planning time during student hours for each consecutive five (5) days of student attendance, subject to the following conditions and exceptions: If, as a result of scheduling limitations and requirements, a teacher is not provided with at least a 30 minute planning time on a day of student attendance, that teacher shall not be scheduled for recess supervision on that day. In no event shall an elementary teacher be required to forego planning time more than two (2) days per week. Elementary school teachers assigned to more than one (1) building shall be allowed 20 minutes for travel time between buildings, plus an additional fifteen (15) minutes of preparation time following the travel time. All planning and preparation time shall be exclusive of the 45 minute lunch break. Elementary school teachers with extra-duty assignments may request to have their planning time scheduled during the last part of the student day to facilitate travel to that extra-duty assignment location.

Teacher Planning and Preparation. The Xxxxxxxxxx Faculty Association and the Board of Education agree that adequate teacher planning time is important. Whenever a teacher is absent, a clearly marked book containing short-range plans, a daily schedule and any other material that may be of value to a substitute teacher shall be made available to the Building Principal, so that the instruction of the students may reasonably continue.

In the case of an Early Childhood Program teacher, the 300 minutes of individual planning time will be provided through the calendar when children are not in school. Elementary Special Education teachers, whose responsibilities require them to complete evaluations to determine student eligibility for additional and/or specialized educational services, shall have time allocated within the student-instructional day for the purpose of conducting required evaluations. This 60 minutes per week of time evaluating students will be counted as direct services to a student and will count towards the 1450 instructional minutes. If the 60 minutes per week, averaged over the school year, is not sufficient for testing students, the teacher is to advise his/her immediate supervisor of the issue. The issue will be resolved at the building level. If needed, the principal will either utilize District support or the teacher will be compensated overload.

  • Professional Preparation and Scholarship The certificated classroom teacher exhibits, in his/her performance, evidence of having a theoretical background and knowledge of the principles and methods of teaching, and a commitment to education as a profession.

  • Procurement Planning Prior to the issuance of any invitations to bid for contracts, the proposed procurement plan for the Project shall be furnished to the Association for its review and approval, in accordance with the provisions of paragraph 1 of Appendix 1 to the Guidelines. Procurement of all goods and works shall be undertaken in accordance with such procurement plan as shall have been approved by the Association, and with the provisions of said paragraph 1.
