Teacher Absence. L11.13.01 The Board shall provide an Occasional Teacher when a Teacher is absent for reasons authorized by the Collective Agreement (i.e., absence codes) or for the purpose of Board-approved professional development or training.
Teacher Absence. If the IDL teacher is absent, his/her substitute shall present the course.
Teacher Absence. The Board shall provide an occasional/supply teacher when that is necessary due to the absence of a regular classroom teacher. A Principal and/or Vice-Principal may replace an absent teacher.
Teacher Absence. When a teacher is absent on a leave of absence, normal procedure will be to hire a substitute for that teacher for the duration of the leave. The Association will be notified of any exceptions to this procedure.

Teacher Absence. A. If a teacher is absent on a given day due to illness or bereavement, the teacher shall call a recording device at a telephone number specified by the Board at least one (1) hour prior to the beginning of the teacher's school day.

Teachers who submit a notice of retirement by October 1 of the school year in which they plan to retire and the Board acts upon the retirement will not be evaluated. Year Long Courses - Should approved paid absences arise that would cause a teacher to miss at least thirty-three (33) days, from the first day of school through March 1st, then the data gathered from the Vendor Assessments, Value Added and/or Student Learning Objectives shall not be used to determine the teacher’s final evaluation. Semester Courses - Should approved paid absences arise that would cause a teacher to miss at least sixteen (16) days, from the first day of school through the end of the first semester, then the data gathered from the vendor assessment , Value Added and/or Student Learning Objectives shall not be used to determine the teacher’s final evaluation. Only courses taught during the first semester shall count towards the teacher evaluation. Quarterly Courses (held either 2nd or 3rd quarters) Should approved paid absences arise that would cause a teacher to miss at least eight (8) days in either quarter, then the data gathered from the Vendor Assessment , Value Added and/or Student Learning Objectives shall not be used to determine the teacher’s final evaluation.

Teacher Absence. A. Teachers in the Middle School and High School only, who are assigned to cover classes because a substitute is unavailable, shall be paid thirty-one dollars ($31.00) if the teacher is taken from a preparation period or lunch period to provide the coverage. However, if the class is operating under a block scheduling system, said payment shall be thirty-five dollars ($35.00).
