Taxpayer Identification Number. Internal Revenue Service (IRS) regulations require the City to have the correct name, address, and Taxpayer Identification Number (TIN) or Social Security Number (SSN) on file for businesses or persons who provide goods or services to the City. This information is necessary to complete Form 1099 at the end of each tax year. To comply with IRS regulations, the City requires each Contractor to provide a Form W-9 prior to the award of a Contract.
