Sustainability. 4.1 The Principal conducts its business in accordance with the principle of sustainable development and adheres to internationally recognized fundamental standards for occupational health and safety, environmental protection, labor and human rights as well as responsible corporate governance (hereinafter “ESG Standards”). The Principal has described its understanding of the ESG Standards in the Supplier Code of Conduct (xxxx://xxx.xxxx.xxx/supplier-code-of-conduct). The Principal expects the Contractor to adhere to the ESG Standards. Furthermore, the Principal calls upon the Contractor to ensure that all its subcontractors of any tier adhere to the ESG Standards likewise. The Principal shall have the right to check adherence to the ESG Standards, either itself or through third parties that it commissions, with prior notice.
Sustainability. (12 /18) Pursuant to the City’s Sustainable City Principles, which direct City Bureaus to pursue long-term social equity, environmental quality, and economic vitality through innovative and traditional mechanisms, Contractor is encouraged to incorporate these Principles into its scope of work with the City wherever possible. Therefore, in accordance with the Principles and the City's Sustainable Procurement Policy, it is the policy of the City of Portland to encourage the use of Products or Services that help to minimize the human health and environmental impacts of City operations. Contractor is encouraged to incorporate environmentally preferable Products or Services into its work performance wherever possible. "Environmentally preferable" means Products or Services that have a lesser or reduced effect on human health and the environment when compared with competing products or services that serve the same purpose. This comparison may consider raw materials acquisition, production, manufacturing, packaging, distribution, reuse, operation, maintenance, or disposal of the Product or Service.
Sustainability. 9.1. Sustainability is at the core of this Framework and delivery of EnPCs. Scottish Government is seeking to support the transition to a low carbon economy, as set out in the Government's Economic Strategy and contribute to Climate Change targets. The Climate Change (Scotland) Act 2009 sets legally binding targets in relation to greenhouse gas emissions reduction (42% by 2020, based on a 1990 baseline) and places various duties on public bodies. To support this there are linked ambitions; an energy efficiency target to reduce total final energy consumption in Scotland by 12% (against baseline of average consumption in 2005-07) and delivery of 11% of non-electrical heat demand by renewable sources.
Sustainability. Grant Funded programs that contain continuing personnel and operating expenses, over and above planning and implementation costs, must be sustained once the Grant Funding ends. If Equipment is purchased with grant funds the equipment must be sustained through the useful life of equipment. By executing this Agreement, SUBRECIPIENT acknowledges its responsibility and agrees to sustain continuing programs beyond the Grant Funding period. SUBRECIPIENT acknowledges and agrees that this sustainability requirement is a material term of the Agreement.
Sustainability. The Provider should take steps to ensure sustainability of travel. The Authority is committed to adopting travel behaviours that support the Government‟s sustainability objectives. The policy is to strike an appropriate balance between the costs and the benefits, taking into account: Cost Convenience Carbon emissions Care of staff Travel should only be undertaken when there is no other practical business alternative and, where travel is necessary, sustainability and environmental issues are to be taken into account when planning meetings and journeys. Cost Care MUST be exercised to ensure that the mode of travel selected is the most cost effective option. Travel may be arranged on behalf of the Provider by the Contracting Body. Or, the Contracting Body may reasonably require the Provider to use a certain mode of transport or a certain supplier. This will be decided by the Contracting Body when the Services are required. Air No air travel expenses can be claimed unless this is required by the Contracting Body and is within the UK. No first class air travel is permitted. Rail No rail travel expenses can be claimed unless this is required by the Contracting Body and is within the UK. When travelling by rail, travel will be reimbursed at the standard class rate. Car When travelling by car where the car is provided by the Contractor or is privately owned by the Contractor‟s staff, the following mileage allowances shall be applicable: Types Per mile Private cars and vans ‐ no public transport rate* £0.45 Private cars and vans ‐ public transport rate* £0.25 Private motor cycles £0.24 Passenger supplement £0.05 Bicycle £0.20
Sustainability. The County desires to further its commitment to sustainability through encouraging our vendors to adopt this business philosophy. Improving energy efficiency is a first step toward achieving sustainability in buildings and organizations. Energy efficiency helps control rising energy costs, reduces environmental footprints, and increases the value and competitiveness of the vendors. This means getting the most out of every single unit of energy, water, materials, and resources used in their business. Green concepts and practices the A-E should consider for the day-to-day operations include the following: • Develop a plan for sustainability. • Retrofitting current systems/buildings for increased energy efficiency. • Selecting energy efficient products and technologies for buildings. • Exploring renewable energy services, • Understanding efficient water solutions. • Reducing your organization’s carbon footprint. • Utilize green suppliers/vendors. • Attending energy efficient and sustainability events and associated programs. • Recycling and resource recovery. • Diversion and reuse. The A-E should consider sustainability for incorporation into their work product. Sustainability objectives should be identified by the A-E for use as a basis for its design. These sustainability objectives should then be reviewed by the A-E with OC Waste & Recycling for each individual project undertaking. • Use of recycled products. • Reuse on-site materials where available. • Utilize green sub-A-E. • Identify and utilize energy efficient products. • Minimize use of raw materials/products. • Establish a life cycle costing methodology for projects. • Cost and value appropriately sustainability options.
Sustainability. 3.1. The CONTRACTOR undertakes to follow a sound environmental management policy so that its activities comply with all applicable environmental legislation and regulations and that its products or services (including the Ordered IT Products) are procured, produced, packaged, delivered and are capable of being used and ultimately disposed of, in ways that are appropriate from an environmental protection perspective.
Sustainability. B.15.1 The Supplier shall have a sustainability policy that highlights what actions it takes, on an on-going basis, to minimise the environmental impact of its operations and its commitment to meeting the Client’s sustainability targets.
Sustainability. Tenant acknowledges that the Building will be developed and operated in a sustainable and resource efficient manner. Tenant shall use commercially reasonable efforts to comply with the terms of Landlord’s sustainability practices and procedures attached hereto as Exhibit G. Tenant shall comply with all of Landlord’s commercially reasonable sustainability practices and procedures in effect from time to time including those addressing building operations and maintenance; chemical use; construction practices and materials; indoor air quality; energy efficiency; water efficiency; recycling programs; maintenance programs; and systems upgrades to meet green building energy, water, indoor air quality, and lighting performance standards. Tenant acknowledges that Landlord has designed the Building to qualify for and intends to seek LEED certification and may apply for any other third-party rating system concerning the environmental compliance or sustainability of the Building or the Premises as the same may change from time to time (collectively, “Sustainability Standards”). Provided the following neither materially increase Tenant’s costs nor materially decrease Tenant’s rights and privileges granted elsewhere in this Lease, (i) Tenant shall comply with all reasonable requirements imposed on the Building from time to time as a result of or in connection with any applicable Sustainability Standard, and (ii) shall not take any action that could cause the Building to lose its certification or status under any applicable Sustainability Standard. Landlord shall be responsible for any reporting required under any certification or rating system and the cost shall be included in Operating Expenses. Tenant shall comply with all reasonable Landlord requirements regarding the collection, sorting, separation, and recycling of garbage and recyclable materials. Landlord may refuse to collect or accept from Tenant any waste that is not separated and sorted, and to require Tenant to arrange for such collection at Tenant’s sole cost and expense, utilizing a contractor satisfactory to Landlord.
