SURGE PROTECTION. The Administrator will make payment arrangements associated with the repair or replacement of the Meter-Base Protector and Grounding Wire. Payment arrangements will be made directly between You and the authorized service contractor prior to the completion of work for Covered Equipment. You may be required to pay for the repair or replacement of the Covered Equipment, in which case We will reimburse You when the Administrator receives Your valid paid invoice(s) including the authorized service contractor’s failure reason of the Covered Equipment.

SURGE PROTECTION. 1. When service is required, You are to telephone the Administrator at 888.999.8856. All service for Meter-Base Protector failure or Grounding Wire failure must be performed by an authorized service contractor arranged by the Administrator. The Administrator will only pay for repairs in Section A “Coverage” above performed by an authorized service contractor.

SURGE PROTECTION. We will cover up to $1,000 per 12-month period from the Closing Date for surge protection. COVERED: Breakdown of any covered product under your Service Plan caused by power surge or spike if the Breakdown occurs while the product is connected to a surge protector accepted by the Underwriter’s Laboratory. We may collect your surge protector for examination.
SURGE PROTECTION. The Concessionaire will provide surge protection arrangement to protect the luminaire from switching surges which are expected/ prevalent in Street Light supply networks. No claim for failure of Luminaires, on account of voltage surges, other than Lightning surges, will be considered. SURGE PROTECTION. Each HSPS shall have surge protection installed on the LV side of the transformer from the switchgear. The surge arrestors shall be sized appropriately based on the worst case expected overvoltage conditions and surges which may also emanate from the ESP. The Contractor shall ensure that the panel/junction box which shall be used for cable extension and housing of the surge arrestors shall be as a minimum IP65 compliant and shall have a point which shall allow for earthing to the ground grid. See section 11. The surge arrestor panels shall have a local indication showing the status of each surge arrestor and the panel shall be labelled appropriately with a corresponding AKZ/KKS number. The panels shall be lockable in such a manner as to prevent access to the surge arrestors unless the panel is de- energised. All locking mechanisms installed shall be IP65 rated and shall have dust prevention mechanisms over them. All panels shall be constructed from 3CR12 steel and shall be powder coated to SANS 1091 B32 (electric orange). The Contractor shall ensure that the status of each surge arrestor from each transformer is made available to the DCS.
