Surface Water. To the extent stream flows or diversions are required to be measured under this Settlement Agreement, such data shall be collected, compiled, and made available to the other Parties upon reasonable request and payment of reasonable costs.

Surface Water. San Francisco Bay, California’s largest estuary, is approximately 1 mile north of Xxxxxxx Field. Historically, tidal salt xxxxx and mud flats covered extensive areas of the southern portion of the bay including the northern portion of Xxxxxxx Field. However, most of these wetlands have been eliminated or greatly altered. The large area north and northeast of Xxxxxxx Field was diked several decades ago and is still used as commercial salt evaporation ponds. Surface water features at Xxxxxxx Field include or have included stormwater drainage ditches, several small ponds, and a stormwater retention pond. There are no streams on Xxxxxxx Field, although several streams are present to the east and west. Coyote Creek and Xxxxxxxxx Xxxxxx drain into San Francisco Bay east of Xxxxxxx Field, and Stevens Creek drains into San Francisco Bay to the west. Stormwater in the eastern portion of the airfield (including the runways and aircraft aprons) drains through a system of surface channels (Patrol Road Ditch and Marriage Road Ditch) and subsurface drains to the Building 191 lift station and is pumped into the Northern Channel at its western end. Water is pumped from the eastern end of Northern Channel to Xxxxxxxxx Xxxxxx, which drains to San Francisco Bay. During significant rainfall, temporary lift stations pump water from Patrol Road Ditch and Marriage Road Ditch directly into the Northern Channel. Stormwater in the western portion of the base drains to the stormwater settling basin via underground pipes. From the settling basin, the water flows northward through the Eastern Diked Xxxxx to the stormwater retention pond. On the basis of an initial assessment study of Xxxxxxx Field performed by the Naval Energy and Environmental Support Activity (XXXXX), the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) projects that the eastern portion of Xxxxxxx Field will be inundated by 100-year tidal flooding (XXXXX 1984). The 100-year flood is projected to reach 7.5 feet above msl and a significant portion of Xxxxxxx Field would be affected.
Surface Water. Lessor’s express written consent is required for Lessee to use surface water found on the Leased Premises or any property owned or controlled by the Lessor or any water from water xxxxx or stock tanks controlled by the Lessor or its surface tenants.
Surface Water. Standards Protection of surface water was a basis for making soil and groundwater response action decisions during the cleanup period so that surface water on site and leaving the site would be of sufficient quality to support all uses. The applicable surface water uses are consistent with the following Colorado Water Quality Control Commission (WQCC) surface water use classifications: • Water Supply, • Aquatic Life – Warm 2, • Agriculture, • Recreation N (North Walnut Creek, South Walnut Creek, and Pond C-2), and • Recreation E (Woman Creek). The remedy performance standards for surface water at the Rocky Flats Site are found in Table 1 and are based on the tables found in the WQCC Regulation No. 31: Basic Standards and Methodologies for Surface Water (5 CCR 1002-31) and on the site-specific standards in the WQCC Regulations No. 38 (5 CCR 1002-38). The Table 1 standards are tailored to the conditions at the Rocky Flats Site and their use is limited to the evaluation of environmental monitoring data required by this agreement. The Table 1 standards do not supplant state of Colorado water quality standards applicable to surface waters at the site, which are named in the CAD/ROD. If the numeric values from the basic standards and the site-specific standards differ, the site-specific standard applies. Revisions to the practical quantitation limits (PQLs) in Table 1 may be proposed to Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE) for approval. The RFLMA parties should consider PQL guidance, applicable regulations, site-specific conditions, and other relevant information in establishing PQL values. Any changes to the standards will be discussed in the annual legacy management report. The WQCC-designated groundwater use classification at the site is surface water protection. The numeric values for measuring potential effects of contaminated groundwater on surface water quality are the surface water standards in Table 1. Exceedances of water quality standards at a surface water POC may be subject to civil penalties under Sections 109 and 310(c) of CERCLA. Criteria and strategies for comparing analytical results to these numeric values are established in Section 5 and in attached flowcharts.

Surface Water. Learning Plan This appendix provides a draft Surface Water Learning Plan table of contents for typical class 2 Transboundary Waters. This table of contents is not exhaustive. The BMC will jointly decide where to place effort on a case-by-case basis. The Surface Water Learning Plan will be developed in conjunction with other components, such as Groundwater, to ensure an overall ecosystem approach. Traditional knowledge and use information will be considered in every aspect of the Learning Plan.

Surface Water. DOE shall refrain from field work in Boeing NPDES surface water exclusion zones, identified by the Boeing Project Manager, during the rainy season, which is interpreted to be from October 1st through March 30th each year. However, the Boeing Project Manager and DOE Project Manager may mutually agree to limited field activities within the designated NPDES surface water exclusion zones on a location-by-location basis upon advance review and consultation.

Strategy E8-2: If wetlands exist in or adjacent to property, pretreat runoff in a vegetated swale or detention basin before discharging to wetlands. Goal E9: Where storm-related flooding does not currently exist, retain existing drainage patterns. Strategy E9-1: Current drainage patterns should be maintained. Strategy E9-2: The city should periodically review and update its flood damage prevention and drainage regulations, and ensure developers and applicants are familiar with them. Goal E10: Where storm-related shallow flooding may occur, eliminate such flooding through design. Strategy E10-1: Alter drainage the minimum required to adequately protect life and property from flooding.
Surface Water. Releases Discuss the facility's potential impact on surface water within a 2-mile radius of the facility. Describe the potential beneficial uses of the surface water (e.g., drinking water supply, recreational, agricultural, industrial, or environmentally sensitive). Identify all water supply intake points and contact areas within a 2- mile radius of the facility. Include a summary of the most recent water sampling data available for each of the identified water supply intake points. Include a description of the biota in surface water bodies on, adjacent to, or which can be potentially affected by the release. Also summarize any available sediment sampling data. Include a regional map showing the facility, surface water flow direction, beneficial use areas, and the location of any identified water supply intake points or contact areas that are within a 2-mile radius of the facility.
