Supplementary pension accrual. In addition Rio Tinto London Limited will supplement your pension accrual on an unfunded basis. The amount of the supplementary pension accrual will be calculated as the pension with an Actuarial Value of: • The Actuarial Value of a pension of "two-thirds of Final Pensionable Pay (not limited by the "Earnings Cap") less the pension accrued under the Rio Tinto Pension Fund", less • The Actuarial Value of the benefits under the Kennecott Supplementary Retirement Accumulation Plan, the Rio Tinto America Inc. Retirement Plan and the Senior Executives Retirement Plan, converted from US dollars to pounds sterling using the average interbank exchange rate over the 12 months to your 60th birthday (or earlier date of retirement). The terms of payment of the supplementary pension, including pension increases and attaching widow's pension, will be as for the pension accrued under the Rio Tinto Pension Fund.
