The supervising scaffolder should monitor the work, to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and recommended practice and be in a position to take immediate charge in the event of an emergency. Trainees should not be required to carry out scaffolding work in an isolated location out of sight and earshot of the supervising scaffolder.
