Supervision of Pupils. No bargaining unit member will be required to transport a pupil in his/her personal vehicle. Secondary teachers shall not be assigned to supervise lavatories.
Supervision of Pupils. The BOARD and the ASSOCIATION agree that general supervision of pupils anywhere in the school building or on the school site is consistent with the role of the Teacher. The BOARD and the ASSOCIATION also agree that certain non-teaching duties may be capably performed by persons other than fully certified Teachers. Supervision of persons performing such non- teaching duties, however, shall be considered a suitable assignment for a Teacher. The BOARD shall involve in the orientation and planning of the daily functioning of aides those teachers who are assigned the function of supervision of said aides; provided, however, that the BOARD shall not be required to involve in such orientation and planning, Teachers employed subsequent to September 30th of the In-School Work Year. This shall not require traffic direction. Teachers shall be required to supervise students during lunch and recess both indoors and outdoors. This shall not require teachers to engage any instruction or participate in any student activities unless they choose to do so. To the extent reasonably permitted by scheduling, assignments shall be rotated so that no teacher shall be required to regularly supervise the pupil eating areas more than four (4) days per week.
Supervision of Pupils. 13.01 Teachers shall not be required to perform supervision of pupils who travel to and/or from school by Education Entity operated vehicles, be they publicly or privately owned: (i) prior to the first run of vehicles arriving at the school or twenty (20) minutes before the teacher’s classes begin, whichever is the lesser; (ii) after the first run of vehicles leaves the school or twenty (20) minutes after the teacher’s classes end, whichever is the lesser. 13.02 Teachers shall not be required to perform supervision of pupils who do not travel to and/or from school by Education Entity operated vehicles be they publicly or privately owned: (i) prior to twenty (20) minutes before the teacher’s classes begin; (ii) subsequent to twenty (20) minutes after the teacher’s classes end. 13.03 Teachers shall not be required to perform supervision of pupils during any period of time that pupils are on lunch and noon hour break. 13.04 Notwithstanding 13.03, teachers shall be scheduled on an equitable basis for the purpose of providing emergency on-call service to persons other than teachers who are engaged to provide supervision of pupils during lunch and noon hour break. The schedule shall provide not more than one (1) teacher per school building. School building shall mean each building under the jurisdiction of one (1) principal. 13.05 The provisions of this Article shall be a minimum benefit to teachers, and teachers shall be entitled to a greater benefit if provided by a current arrangement or by a negotiated provision with an Education Entity.
