Summons and Subpoenas. Each employee shall be allowed leave of absence without deduction of salary or sick leave when required to serve on a jury or subpoenaed as a witness in any proceeding to which the employee is not a Party or one of the persons charged. The employee shall pay to the Board any fee, exclusive of travelling allowances and living expenses that are received as a juror or as a witness.

Any Unit member summoned to provide testimony on behalf of the City, or as a result of the performance of the course and scope of the Unit member’s duties, or at the direction of the City Manager, City Attorney or any Director, in any municipal, superior or federal court proceeding, in any administrative proceeding before any local, federal or state agency, board or commission, or in any arbitration or mediation, shall be paid their prevailing pay rate during such court service. To the extent that the Unit member is called by someone other than the City, the Unit member shall make the necessary arrangements to be on call for testimony.
