Summer School Assignments. All summer work shall be considered regular employment and shall be in accordance with Education Code, Section 45102. All summer school assignments shall be posted and bids completed by no later than May 1.
Summer School Assignments. Applications for District summer school shall be available by March 15 and must be submitted to Human Resources by April 1. Selection of staff will be made by Human Resources according to program needs, contract status, experience, credentialing and professional preparation.
Summer School Assignments. 19.9.1 Provided they apply in accordance with 19.9.2 below, bargaining unit members with appropriate credentials and qualifications, whose applications have been received by the Human Resources Department within the deadline of the posting, shall receive summer school assignments before non-bargaining unit members are placed in a position.
Summer School Assignments. All personnel assigned to summer sessions, such as but not limited to: the cognitively impaired program(s) at Brookside and North Point Center, or other approved programs, shall be offered employment on a contract separate from the regular school year contract as per the negotiated calendar. Regular school year employees normally assigned to duties which will be extended into summer sessions shall have the first option of signing for said summer session. In the event of more than one eligible application, the selection will be made based on knowledge, experience, (i.e. seniority within CI programs), and merit and will be mutually agreed upon by the MEA representatives and Administration.
Summer School Assignments. All other summer school assignments shall be filled by district seniority and by classification. Should the senior applicant choose an assignment with a shorter duration than a lesser senior employee, he/she will not have the option to bump the lesser senior employee. Specific summer school assignments which require specialized trained staff will be filled by qualified trained employees. If no qualified employees are available the assignments will be filled from outside sources.
Summer School Assignments. Counselors may be assigned to summer school assignments at the discretion of the District.
Summer School Assignments. The Board reserves the right to employ certified employees for the School District’s summer school program at its discretion. In so doing, however, the Board agrees that it will give priority for such employment to current employees of the School District; provided, however, that such employees are legally qualified to teach the subject areas required for the summer school program and further provided that said employees obtained a “proficient” or better rating on their last regular school and summer school evaluation.
Summer School Assignments. 1. Provided there is a need for the class in the opinion of the College, full-time faculty shall usually have first option to teach summer classes. Denial of a request to teach a summer class without good-and-adequate cause and justification shall be subject to the grievance process.

Summer School Assignments. It is the prerogative of the Board, when and if these assignments are available, that vacancies will be filled by the most senior bargaining unit member provided that the individuals meet reasonable qualifications, unless a valid and demonstrable reason is otherwise provided. In the event that no qualified individual applies for these positions, then they may be filled at the discretion of the Board.
