Service may be rendered for no more than 40 days by a school district in a school year. *The district may use discretion based on the substitute’s experience, current certification status and training to pay an uncertified substitute at the higher daily rate than is specified for certified substitutes. *Any teacher who has retired from the District shall receive an additional $5 per day of the Certified Full Day Rate on his/her first day of substitute service and an additional $2.50 per day of the Certified Half Day Rate. The retiree must provide documentation to confirm retirement from the District. This additional daily rate increase shall begin on and after April 1, 2017.

  • Substitute Employees Employees replacing another on leave of absence from the position shall be known as substitute employees. Those substitutes who exceed 194 workdays in the fiscal year shall not gain permanent employment rights with the District. However, the agency shop provisions of this contract shall cover the employee.

  • Substitute Employee A person who takes the place of an employee on a non-permanent, day-to-day basis, until the regularly assigned employee returns or is replaced.

  • Substitute Pay An adjunct faculty member who substitute teaches shall be paid at forty dollars ($40) per fifty (50) minute class period. No person shall be paid extra for teaching two sections at the same hour, nor shall he/she be required to do so.

  • Supervisory Differential Adjustment 99. The Appointing Officer may adjust the compensation of a supervisory employee whose schedule of compensation is set herein subject to the following conditions:

  • Substitute Teachers In lieu of salary under the Basic Salary Schedule, the District shall pay to teachers employed on the basis of the teacher being available for service if and when called upon by the District, and known as Substitute Teachers, an allowance of $201.72 per day of teaching effective September 1, 2009. Half days will be paid at 50 per cent of the full day allowance.

  • Overload Compensation ‌ An instructional faculty member may be given overload compensation for additional instructional responsibilities beyond the normal work day or work year. The conditions and compensation of all overload duties shall be established prior to the beginning of additional instructional work. The rate of compensation shall be paid on a prorated salary basis. When calculating the prorated hourly salary under this section, the academic year salary shall be divided by 1344 hours. Faculty members have the option of refusing additional work assignments: when this occurs the rate of compensation will be agreed upon between the employer and the faculty member.

  • Substitute Teaching An adjunct faculty member who is interested in a substitute teaching assignment may be assigned to teach as a substitute in a course section for which the adjunct faculty member is qualified to teach. Each semester an adjunct faculty member may submit to the appropriate Xxxx a written request, on a form provided by the College, which shall indicate his/her willingness and availability to act as a substitute teacher and a reliable means by which to contact the adjunct faculty member on short notice. An adjunct faculty member who is selected to substitute teach shall be paid in accordance with Article 8.4.

  • Sick Leave Buy Back To encourage and reward employees who maintain good job attendance, the parties agree to the following incentive award: Employees who utilize two (2) sick leave days or less each assigned school calendar year and year-round employees who utilize three (3) sick leave days or less during each assigned school calendar year - upon request – shall receive payment for up to eight (8) days of sick leave, provided the employee worked the full assigned calendar year.* The following procedures apply to the payment of sick leave under this section.
