Substitute days. 17.7 The Employer, with the agreement of the Employees concerned, may substitute the day an Employee is to take off for another day in the case of a breakdown of machinery, or a failure of shortage of electric power, or to meet the requirements of the business in the event of rush orders or some other emergency situation.

Secondary and Middle Schools shall have available, upon written request to the building principal/program manager, substitute days for the purpose of releasing department heads, team leaders, and other employees for observing and assisting in improvement of instruction in accordance with Article XI and other approved activities on the basis of one (1) day for every three (3) non-supervisory certificated employees in the school.
