Substitute Coverage. A unit member on leave for illness or injury, and where a substitute has been employed, shall not be allowed to return to work and shall be continued on sick leave for the following day if he/she fails to notify the division xxxx by 3 p.m. of the day preceding the day the member intends to return to work.
Substitute Coverage. 1. In the event a teacher of elementary art, music, and physical education, or an ESOL teacher when appropriate, is absent, a fully qualified substitute will be hired.
Substitute Coverage. Any regular school clerk assistant assigned in a school clerk I position for a period of twenty consecutive school days shall be paid at the appropriate step of the school clerk I salary schedule, effective on the twenty-first consecutive school day. Upon the assignment or transfer of a regular school clerk I to said position, the school clerk assistant shall revert to the former pay status as a school clerk assistant.
Substitute Coverage. 11.5.1 Unit members may, on a voluntary basis, place their names on a "class coverage" list to provide substitution in other unit members' classrooms at the hourly rate in Schedule E.

Substitute Coverage. It is the responsibility of the assigned faculty member to meet each class for the complete period and days scheduled. When personal or family illness or approved assigned duty elsewhere prevents the faculty member from meeting the scheduled class, it is the faculty member’s responsibility to obtain supervisory approval of any substitute or alternative assignment whenever practical or reasonable. Prior approval must be given by the appropriate administrator for substitute coverage. If the absence exceeds the equivalent of one week’s instruction, as determined by the immediate supervisor, the supervisor will provide for class coverage.
Substitute Coverage. (A) Employees may prearrange a specific substitute teacher for his/her planned absence. A good-faith effort will be made to honor this prearrangement.
Substitute Coverage. A cohort of substitutes will be hired to support school sites. Substitutes will be provided training in the instructional models represented in the RTS plan. They will also be trained in the use of SIS, and distance learning and communication platforms (e.g. Google Classroom, Seesaw, Zoom, etc.)
Substitute Coverage. The District will make every effort to provide a 38 substitute on the first day of absence for school-based employees. Any 39 employees identified as not needing a substitute on the first day of absence 40 will be confirmed in the labor management meeting prior to publication of 41 the District’s annual substitute coverage memo. 42
Substitute Coverage. The Employer shall establish lists of employees by Title who wish to cover the positions of absent employees on a short-term (i.e. less than 60 hours) basis. The lists will be up-dated as often as feasible, but at least every six months. There shall be a separate list of Paraprofessional employees who wish to substitute for absent Teachers. Assignment to short-term teacher substitute coverage shall be made in the following order of priority: (1) Teacher employees (2) Paraprofessional employees (3) Non- employees. Every effort shall be made to distribute available short-term substitute coverage fairly among those on the respective lists. A Paraprofessional who substitutes for an absent Teacher pursuant to this procedure shall be paid at the Teacher pay rate.
