We plan to seek Research Ethics Board approval at Lakehead and Laurentian Universities for implementation in 2010-11. Student satisfaction at NOSM is generally equated with student engagement. In that regard, NOSM learners are very engaged and play active and meaningful roles on many important and varied committees: Academic Council, Undergraduate Medical Education Committee (UMEC), Student Assessment and Promotion Committee (SAPC), Phase 1, 2 and 3 Committees, Awards Committee, Learner Affairs Reference Group (LARG) to name a few.

A variety of new and continuing activities connected to the point colleges at Trent took place during the 2009-10 academic year. Offered through the Faculty of Applied Health Sciences, BBC offers rock climbing, canoeing and backpacking trips for incoming undergraduate students (regardless of Faculty) during July and August. BBC trips are three to five days long and are led by current Xxxxx students and alumni. The program is coordinated by Xxxxx faculty and staff with extensive outdoor experience. Each trip includes incoming undergraduate students and leaders and provides a great chance to meet a diverse group of classmates. Students explore the outdoors, travel and camp together, share stories, and create connections with new friends for Fall. Students also begin to build a sense of community with a progressive dinner, a bus tour of St. Catharines and a night in residence.
