Student Recruitment and Enrollment. Enrollment in the School shall be open to any child who resides within the state, except as limited by CRS 22-30.5-507(3). Student Recruitment and Enrollment. Public Notification DECA PREP will utilize at least the following venues as means of notifying the Dayton community about enrollment opportunities: distribution of application material to all Dayton- area schools as permitted; group visits hosted on-site or at the location of a requesting organization; on-site hosting of parent information sessions held at various times of the day; distribution of application and school information to area-wide churches, preschools, daycares, and child health clinics; website information/application; and direct mailing/emailing by individual request. The application process will require all state-mandated vaccinations and other forms (emergency medical, permission for photo, application for free and/or reduced-price lunch, etc.) to be completed prior to official enrollment. Incomplete applications will be moved to the waiting list. Registration will be directly handled by DECA PREP personnel. Enrollment will be subject to a stated period enrollment. For student applications in excess of enrollment limits, DECA PREP will follow the appropriate lottery requirements for selection of students as prescribed by law, except that students who attended DECA PREP the previous year and siblings of students attending DECA PREP will be given priority enrollment. The DECA PREP Board of Trustees shall adopt admission procedures to include the following:

Preference will be provided for siblings of students enrolled in the school and for students residing within the district boundaries of Columbus City Schools. If UPA does not reach the minimum number of applications by the lottery date, it will enroll students in the order in which it receives applications and place others on a waitlist. If a student withdraws from the school for any reason, UPA will immediately enroll a student from the waitlist. Class, section, and grade-level sizes will be determined by the school. Student Recruitment and Enrollment. Open enrollment begins in March of each year. Before open enrollment begins, however, students who are currently enrolled are given the opportunity during February to indicate whether or not they will be returning the next year. Once open enrollment begins and we have reached our limit, we will start a waiting list. Siblings of students already enrolled will be enrolled first. All other students on the waiting list will participate in a public lottery where a third party will pull lots to determine the order in which students will be enrolled as space becomes available. During open enrollment, students are recruited in the following ways: • TV commercials • Radio commercials • Dissemination of brochures and flyers • Yard signs • Public forums • Referrals (word of mouth) The school also actively recruits from and has formed effective working partnerships with preschools, daycares, recreation and community centers, Juneteenth, Black local charter high schools, and various events around the city. Class, section, and grade-level sizes are to be determined by the school.
