Street Lighting. 4.4.1 The Developer shall provide streetlights for the entire Subdivision at his sole expense. The type of lighting standard, pole spacing, and installation shall be per Memphis Light, Gas and Water standards. Memphis Light Gas and Water shall bill the City for installation of street lighting per its standards.

Street Lighting. 18. The Subdivider shall construct and install streetlights in accordance with the Municipality’s Infrastructure Design Standards, generally as proposed in the Servicing Plans including the photometric plan and specifically as required or permitted by the Municipal Engineer.

Street Lighting. All electrical equipment shall conform to the standards of the National Electric Manufacturers Association (NEMA). In addition to the requirement of these specifications, the plans and the lighting specifications, all material and work shall conform to the requirements of the National Electric Code (NEC), the Standards of the American Society for Testing Materials (ASTM), the American Standards Association (ASA), the Illuminating Engineering Society (IES) and all local ordinances. Existing street light system to be intercepted as designated on plans. Contractor to provide LED type GE Evolved or approved equivalent per plans. All materials used in the fabrication or assembly of system shall comply with the approved plans and Standard Details. All lighting equipment shall be new and shall be approved by the City Engineer. Removal of the existing street light foundation shall be a minimum of twenty-four (24) inches below finished grade. The area shall be backfilled and restored per specifications. Contractor to maintain operability of street light system. Street lighting components, including removal of existing, to be included into the lump sum bid of the Traffic Signal.
Street Lighting. The owner agrees that should sodium vapour street lighting be required fronting the property referred to herein that a payment to the City will be made as follows:
Street Lighting. Ornamental street lighting including underground ducts must be installed on all roads fronting on the proposed development. The cost of this requirement is included in the roads upgrading item.
Street Lighting. Construction or installation of streetlights within the public rights-of-way shall not be required at this time, but streetlights are included in the Waiver referenced herein for construction of the same in the future. A maintenance district for streetlights may be formed for future maintenance of any streetlights installed in the future.

There is no requirement on local authorities in the UK to provide public lighting, The Highways Act 1980 empowers a Highway Authority to provide lighting for any highway or proposed highway for which they are, or will be, the Highway Authority. The council does not have a statutory duty to provide street lighting but it will do so where a need is established.
