Step II: University Grievances. A University Grievance shall be in writing and shall specify the article or articles alleged to have been violated and the remedy sought. The grievance shall be forwarded to the President of the Association within 20 working days of the date the events giving rise to the grievance occurred, or within 20 workings days of the date upon which the University knew of the events giving rise to the grievance, whichever is later. No later than 10 working days following receipt of the grievance, a representative of the Association shall meet with a representative of the University and shall make every reasonable attempt to resolve the grievance. In the event that a settlement is reached, it shall be reduced to writing and countersigned by the representatives of the Association and the University. In the event that no settlement is reached within 20 working days of the date of the first meeting hereunder, the representative of the Association within 3 working days thereafter shall forward in writing to the University reasons for denying the grievance.

  • Employer Grievances Port grievances will be initiated at Step 2.

  • Employee Grievances 3.2(a) Grievances on behalf of employees shall be handled as follows:

  • Individual Grievances Subject to and as provided in section 208 of the Federal Public Sector Labour Relations Act, an employee who feels that he or she has been treated unjustly or considers himself, herself aggrieved by any action or lack of action by the Employer in matters other than those arising from the classification process, is entitled to present a grievance, as in paragraph (b).

  • Policy Grievance – Employer Grievance The Employer may institute a grievance alleging a general misinterpretation or violation by the Union or any employee by filing a written grievance with the Bargaining Unit President, with a copy to the Labour Relations Officer within twenty (20) days after the circumstances have occurred. A meeting will be held between the parties within ten (10) days. The Union shall reply within ten (10) days after the meeting, and failing settlement, the matter may be referred to arbitration.

  • Employer Grievance The Employer may institute a grievance by delivering the same in writing to the President of the Local Union and the President shall answer such grievance in writing within five working (5) days. If the answer is not acceptable to the Employer, the Employer may, within ten (10) working days from the day the President gives her answer, give ten (10) working days notice to the President of the Local Union of its intention to refer the dispute to arbitration.

  • General Grievances Controversies may arise of a nature so general as to directly affect the majority of employees in a classification or department, or the majority of all employees. It is agreed that issues of this nature need not be subjected to the entire grievance procedure but may be initiated at Step 2. Attendance at Grievance Hearings initiated at Step 2 may include members of both negotiating committees.

  • Settlement of Grievances The applicable procedures of this Agreement shall be followed for the settlement of all grievances. All grievances shall be considered carefully and processed promptly.

  • Scope of Grievances A. A grievance may be filed if a management interpretation or application of the provisions of this Memorandum of Understanding adversely affects an employee's wages, hours or conditions of employment.

  • Compensation Complaints All complaints involving or concerning the payment of compensation shall be initially filed in writing with the Human Resources Director. Only complaints which allege that employees are not being compensated in accordance with the provisions of this MOU shall be considered as grievances. Any other matters of compensation are to be resolved in the meeting and conferring process, if not detailed in the MOU which results from such meeting and conferring process shall be deemed withdrawn until the meeting and conferring process is next opened for such discussion. No adjustment shall be retroactive for more than two (2) years from the date upon which the complaint was filed.

  • Grievances and Complaints 5.1 It is the mutual desire of the parties hereto that grievances and complaints relative to this Agreement or working conditions generally shall be adjusted as quickly as possible.
