Status of Limited-Term Employees. A. All limited-term employees shall be subject to the same hiring standards and shall earn all benefits, except Article XI, LAYOFF PROCEDURE, which accrue to employees in regular positions.

Status of Limited-Term Employees. A. The provisions of this Section shall be applicable to all employees entering limited-term positions.
Status of Limited-Term Employees. All limited-term employees shall be subject to the same hiring standards and shall earn all benefits, except Article XI, LAYOFF PROCEDURE, which accrue to employees in regular positions. A regular employee who transfers, promotes, or reduces to a limited-term position on a voluntary basis and not at the direction of the Agency/Department Head shall become a limited-term regular employee. Limited-term employees hired under programs which involve special employment standards shall serve a new probation period upon transfer to permanent funded positions. Upon transfer to permanent positions such employees shall maintain their original hire date for purposes of vacation, sick leave accrual, annual leave accrual, and retirement. The requirement that such employees serve a new probation period may be waived by the County. Limited-term employees not hired under programs which involve special employment standards shall, upon transfer to permanent funded positions, maintain their original hire date for purposes of vacation, sick leave accrual, retirement, and new employee probation. When funding ceases for a limited-term position or when the position is no longer necessary, the limited-term position shall be abolished and the incumbent shall be removed from the payroll. Regular employees who transfer, promote or reduce to limited-term positions at the direction of the Agency/Department Head shall retain their former status and retain their layoff benefits in their former layoff unit. The Agency/Department Head shall make such an order in writing prior to the date of transfer or promotion.

  • Refresh Provision for Permanent Employees Permanent Employees returning from LTD or workplace insurance leave to resume their regular working hours must complete eleven (11) consecutive working days at their regular working hours to receive a new allocation of sick/short-term disability leave. If the Employee has a recurrence of the same illness or injury, s/he is required to apply to reopen the previous LTD or WSIB claim, as applicable. The Local union and Local school board agree to continue to cooperate in the implementation and administration of early intervention and safe return to work processes as a component of the Short-Term Leave and Long-Term Disability Plans. In the event the Employee exhausts his/her sick/short-term disability leave allocation from the previous year and continues to work part-time, their salary will be reduced accordingly and a pro-rated sick/short-term allocation for the employee’s working portion of the current year will be provided. The new pro-rated sick/short-term leave allocation may not be used to top-up from part-time to full-time hours. Any changes to hours of work during a fiscal year shall result in an adjustment to the allocation.
