Station Assignments. The City will determine the staffing levels for each station and the methods to assign available personnel to each station. The City will provide employees with advance notification of the station where they will be working, but reserves the right to change assignments in order to meet changing staffing needs. LEAVES
Station Assignments. A. Firefighters are assigned by the Fire Chief to specific Fire Stations with consideration to skill sets (this includes EMT-P certification, Fire/EMS Instructor certification, specialized teams or skills, EMS/Maintenance Coordinator assignments, and other pertinent operational skills and training). A ratio of at least 2:1 EMT-P to non-EMT-P should be maintained at each station. This ratio does not supersede Article 25, Section 1. The Chief will also take into consideration the desires of individual Firefighters who want to be at a specific station.
Station Assignments a) A "Bid System" shall be utilized to assist with personnel assignments to platoon, station and apparatus. The "Bid System" shall not supersede Article 1, MANAGEMENT RIGHTS of this Agreement, nor shall it infringe upon any management rights contained therein.
Station Assignments. The City agrees to maintain a Standard Procedure Manual Policy regarding a method by which employees may express their preference for station assignments.
Station Assignments. (A) All non-probationary employees assigned to the 24/48-hour work schedule shall bid their apparatus assignment. Apparatus assignments will be selected based upon time in grade and seniority.
Station Assignments. The Fire Chief will pursue development of an administrative policy that creates a station transfer system which meets the Department's operational needs and considers bargaining unit members' seniority, and will meet and consult with the Union in that development.
Station Assignments. COUNTY shall have the management right to determine and adjust station assignments at any time, in its sole discretion and notwithstanding any provision of this Article or any past practice to the contrary. Any such change in an employee’s station assignment does not constitute disciplinary action and may not appealed. In no event shall a change in an employee’s station assignment, whether temporary or permanent, entitle the employee to compensation for any additional miles driven or time spent commuting to the new station. Notwithstanding the foregoing, COUNTY recognizes that covered employees have an interest in station placements. In instances where COUNTY finds that it does not have a management need to exercise its right to determine and adjust station assignments, the County shall allow any open station assignment to be filled by the seniority bid process. Only employees with an overall “competent” or “meets standards” evaluation as measured by the last annual performance evaluation will be guaranteed a seniority bid. Upon request, COUNTY shall consult with ASSOCIATION prior to any management decision related to station assignments; COUNTY shall not make such decisions arbitrarily or capriciously.
Station Assignments. On an annual basis employees use a Seniority Shift Bid process to select station and shift assignments. This provision shall not impair the right of the Fire Department to transfer an employee for reasonable cause, nor shall the provisions require any change in the holiday/vacation schedule, unless mutually agreed otherwise by the parties. Employees may also switch shifts or stations by mutual agreement if authorized by the Fire Chief. Should a vacancy occur on a shift or station, the position shall be filled on the basis of seniority and the needs of the Fire Department. In such cases, the Fire Chief shall make the determination how best to fill the vacancy.
Station Assignments. Station assignments shall be based on seniority, and assigned for a twelve (12) month period, beginning with the calendar year. The Director of Public Safety reserves the right to change the assignment of employees during the course of the year for official remediation purposes. Vacancies that occur during the course of the year are not subject to station bids.
Station Assignments. 38 Management shall establish a systematic and orderly method to facilitate station picks by seniority in rank for 1st class firefighters and above. Management can deviate from this process to maintain or improve the effective delivery of service to the community.
