Standby Pay. A. An Employee shall be deemed to be on standby duty when assigned by the head of the department or other superior to remain at home or at any other designated place for a specific period for the purpose of responding to calls for immediate service after the Employee's normal hours of work, on the Employee's scheduled day off or on holidays. For each calendar day or portion thereof of standby duty, the Employee shall be paid an additional amount equal to twenty-five percent (25%) of the Employee's daily rate.
