Standby Allowance. On occasion, there is a requirement for employees to be available for call out during non-working hours. When employees have been authorized for standby in a scheduled rotation or for specific circumstances by their management supervisor the following will apply;
Standby Allowance. 4.1 In view of the intermittent character of the work of certain Signal; Coordinators, Technicians, Leading Maintainers, Leading Mechanics, Maintainers, Mechanics, they may be paid in addition to their regular earnings for time actually worked, a stand-by allowance of 7 straight time hours per week at the applicable hourly rate of the job they occupy. The provisions of this Articles, will apply to employees eligible to receive standby allowance. The number of employees eligible to receive standby allowance will be determined by the Company and may be adjusted at the option of the Company. Any increase in the number of employees eligible to receive the standby allowance will be done in accordance with Article 9 of Agreement 11.6.
Standby Allowance. 7.1 When employees are required by the Company to hold themselves available to protect the requirements of the service outside of regular working hours and on rest days, they will be paid a standby allowance in addition to their regular earnings.
Standby Allowance. (a) Any employer may require a journeyman or Division B employee to 'standby' on any Saturday and/or Sunday: Provided that such employee shall be entitled to notice, in writing, of not less than one week to that effect.
Standby Allowance. A standby allowance for maintenance trades staff designated as being on standby during evenings, weekends and statutory holidays shall be $100.00 bi-weekly.
Standby Allowance i) An employee on standby shall be paid three hundred dollars ($300.00) for the standby period. When a recognized holiday occurs during an employee(s) standby duty, they shall be paid an additional fifty $50.00. When a paid holiday occurs on a Friday, the transfer of duties will occur at the end of the shift on the Thursday preceding the holiday.
Standby Allowance a) The employees shall be paid a flat rate of one hundred and seventy dollars ($170.00) for each one week period of standby duty. The standby period will commence at the end of the work day Friday. Where the standby period includes a recognized holiday (see Article 13), an additional allowance of forty dollars ($40.00) will be paid. This allowance is paid to ensure that a member of the standby staff can be readily reached and is readily available at all time for emergency operations.
Standby Allowance. Where operational requirements necessitate an employee to be on standby to react safely and immediately to any callout, a Standby Allowance shall be paid to any employee nominated by the Site Supervisor or Superintendent. This allowance shall be $13.78 for each standby period during a normal work- cycle, and $34.34 for each standby period of 24 hours during rostered days off.
