Standby Allowance. On occasion, there is a requirement for employees to be available for call out during non-working hours. When employees have been authorized for standby in a scheduled rotation or for specific circumstances by their management supervisor the following will apply;

Standby Allowance i) An employee on standby shall be paid three hundred dollars ($300.00) for the standby period. When a recognized holiday occurs during an employee(s) standby duty, they shall be paid an additional fifty $50.00. When a paid holiday occurs on a Friday, the transfer of duties will occur at the end of the shift on the Thursday preceding the holiday.
Standby Allowance a) The employees shall be paid a flat rate of one hundred and seventy dollars ($170.00) for each one week period of standby duty. The standby period will commence at the end of the work day Friday. Where the standby period includes a recognized holiday (see Article 13), an additional allowance of forty dollars ($40.00) will be paid.
