STAFF TRAINING AND DEVELOPMENT. 18.01 It is the intent of the Employer to develop and implement appropriate and relevant Staff Training and Development programmes and/or information to provide an opportunity for employees to upgrade their skills and knowledge in areas directly related to their work, including but not limited to familiarization with Employer policy and procedures.

STAFF TRAINING AND DEVELOPMENT. 19.01 Where employees are assigned to train new employees by a senior manager, assigned employees shall receive a $1.00 per hour premium for all hours worked during the training period. Assigned employees shall give progress reports as requested.

The employer will provide on-the-job training and related staff development opportunities in the form of seminars, courses and conferences. Notices of relevant training opportunities will be posted on the bulletin board. To provide training opportunities, the employer will allocate a reasonable of in the budget each year to be used for staff training and development.
