STAFF COMMITTEE. There shall be established in each school, at the beginning of each school year, a Staff Committee. Such Committee shall operate without derogating from the duties and authority vested in the Principal/Vice-Principal pursuant to the School Act and School Act Regulations, Labour Relations Code and/or, subject to the provisions of the Collective Agreement, the policies of the Board.

STAFF COMMITTEE. 1. There shall be established in each school by September 30 of each school year, a Staff Committee. This committee shall operate without derogating from the duties and authority vested in the school’s administrative officers pursuant to the School Act and School Act Regulations, and shall not abrogate the provisions of the collective agreement or the policies of the Board.

Disclosure To allow the Staff Planning Committee to carry out its mandated role under this Article, the Hospital provide the Committee with financial and information and with a copy of any reorganization plans which impact on the bargaining unit Accountability The Committee shall submit its written recommendations to the Chief Executive of the Hospital and the Board of Trustees. Where there is no consensus within the the individual members of the Committee shall be entitled to submit their own recommendations. Any agreement between the Hospital and the Union resulting from the above review concerning the method of implementation will take precedence over the other provisions ofthis agreement.

The employer and the union encourage and support functioning Staff Committees established for the purpose of thoughtful, professional collaboration on matters intended to enhance the working and learning environment of the school where they impact teachers in their role. The Staff Committee does not address matters of a personnel or individual nature or of the Collective Agreement, nor is it intended to derogate from the duties and responsibilities outlined by the BC School Act, BC Ministerial Orders and Regulations, or Board of Education policies.
