Special Project. Special project employees are those hired in connection with a special project having a limited term funding source, such as a federal grant. Appointments of this type may be made for up to three years and have a specific ending date. Special project employees will not displace permanent employees in the event of a layoff. At the end of the special project, the employees will be terminated with no right to grieve the termination. Special project employees are in a bargaining unit covered by this agreement; however, they serve in the unclassified service.

Special Project. The purpose of the Special Project is to examine the potential conservation benefits of transporting coho salmon and possibly other salmonids around barriers to spawning and rearing habitat. Green Diamond proposes to undertake a 10-year project that will entail trapping coho salmon in a stream with a barrier to spawning and rearing habitat, transporting them around the barrier during spawning season, and monitoring subsequent spawning, rearing, and out-migration. Prior to undertaking the project, Green Diamond will evaluate the selected stream based on criteria specified in the Plan to determine that salmonids residing in the basin above the barrier will not be adversely affected by the project.

Special Project. The student must complete a special project for the business. This project must provide both needed information and analysis for the business as well as allow the student to examine her / his specific area of interest in hospitality and tourism management. This project must include a (1) a specific statement of a problem, (2) background research and identification of alternative courses of action, (3) evaluation of those courses of action, including financial evaluation, (4) selection of a course of action and (5) creation of a plan for implementing the course of action. The Special Project is to be approved by your supervisor/manager prior to starting work and reviewed by them at the end of the project. Please note – it is expected for students / supervisors to not have determined the Special Project at the time you complete this form. Hence, it is OK to leave this blank for now. Special Project. 17. The student will originate and implement one of more special project or in-service presentation. In addition, the student intern shall accept any additional assignments agreed upon by the site supervisor and the Central Michigan University representative that shall be designed to offset any weakness in the intern’s preparation that becomes apparent during the course of the internship. For the duration of the internship, the student will be/will not be paid. Final grading and evaluation will be performed by the University representative. Special Project. It is understood that “special project” is any temporary assignment covering specific needs such as: pilot project, research or study project or other special project. A special project is open to all employees, regardless of their status or availability. The employer informs the union of the nature of any special project, its length and the skills necessary to complete the project. The special project is then posted and granted according to the rules stipulated in Matter 7 of these local provisions. The employee who obtains it may temporarily leave her position and her position is offered, if applicable, according to the rules set out in this matter. At the end of the special project, the employee returns to her position without prejudice to her acquired rights. The length of a special project may not be longer than one (1) year, unless there is an agreement to the contrary between the parties.
