Special Positions. 6.6.1.1 Where it is necessary to establish positions for which the duties and responsibilities fall within the scope of the certification granted to the Union but do not include duties and responsibilities of other classifications of employees listed in Article 6, the positions may be established only after consultation with the Union. The Union shall be consulted on the duties and responsibilities of the positions, on the criteria for evaluation (11.5.2 to the extent that it is applicable), on professional development responsibilities, on workload and hours of work, and on related terms and conditions of the positions. The Union shall notify the College within fourteen (14) days of its agreement or disagreement with the establishment of special positions. The establishment of a special position may be grieved by the Union.

Special Positions. 1. The following positions shall be filled by Association members:
Special Positions. The normal workweek for newly hired officers not yet certified by the Municipal Police Training Council shall be Monday through Friday and shall consist of five (5) working days, forty (40) hours per week with two (2) consecutive days off until such time as they enter the field training officer phase of the program. Upon entering the field training officer phase of the program, new employees shall work a 4-2 schedule and an eight and one-half (81/2) hour work shift.
Special Positions. Only permanent employees will be eligible for consideration for the following special positions. If at any time an employee holding one of these special positions, or the District become dissatisfied with the conditions outlined in this Article, either party may upon written notice to the other, withdraw from this arrangement, no reason need be indicated. The arrangement will be discontinued at an agreed date not less than (30) days after the notification.

  • Float Positions The Employer may establish regular float positions which are consecutive hour shifts.

  • Vacant Positions An employee on the reinstatement roster may bid on a vacant position in a different classification in the same manner as any other regular employee pursuant to this agreement.

  • New Positions A. Each newly created position shall be assigned by the Employer to the national craft unit most appropriate for such position within thirty (30) days after its creation. Before such assignment of each new position the Employer shall consult with the Union for the purpose of assigning the new position to the national craft unit most appropriate for such position. The following criteria shall be used in making this determination:

  • Posting of Vacant Positions Positions that are not filled through placement of employees from the layoff list or internal transfer list will be posted for a period of at least seven (7) calendar days, during which time, internal and external applicants may apply. The posting will include, at a minimum, a description of the work to be performed, the requirements of the position, the rate of pay and the shift.

  • Filling Vacant Positions During the time the procedures outlined herein are in effect, position vacancies to be filled shall first be offered to regular employees who have a contractual right to be recalled to a position in the involved job classification or who may have a right to “bump” or transfer to the position, as the case may be. In such circumstances, the seniority provisions of the Agreement shall be observed. If no regular employee has a contractual right to the position, the following shall be given consideration in the order (priority) indicated below: 1st Priority: Qualified Job Bank employees 2nd Priority: Employees on a recall list 3rd Priority: Employee applicants from a list of eligibles 4th Priority: Displaced certified temporary employees 5th Priority: Non-employee applicants from a list of eligibles The qualifications of an employee in the Job Bank or on a recall list shall be reviewed to determine whether he/she meets the qualifications for a vacant position. Whether the employee can be trained for a position within a reasonable time (not to exceed three months) shall be considered when determining the qualifications of an employee. If it is determined that the employee does not meet the qualifications for a vacant position, the employee may appeal to the Director of Human Resources. If it is determined that an employee in the Job Bank is qualified for a vacant position, the employee shall be selected. The appointing authority may appeal the issue of whether the employee is qualified. The dispute shall be presented to and resolved by the Job Bank Steering Committee. If it is determined that an employee on a recall list is qualified for a vacant position, the employee will be given priority consideration and may be selected. Appeals regarding employees on a recall list and their qualifications for a position will be handled by the Civil Service Commission. The grievance procedure under the Labor Agreement shall not apply to determinations as to qualifications of the employee for a vacant position.

  • VACANCIES, TERM POSITIONS AND NEW POSITIONS 3001 Subject to section 3002 herein, the Employer agrees to post notices of vacant, term or new positions covered under this Agreement for at least seven (7) days to enable nurses presently in the employ of the Employer to apply for same. Such posting shall not preclude the Employer from advertising outside the site premises. All postings shall state minimum qualifications required, the equivalent to full-time (E.F.T.) and date of closing of the competition. Job descriptions shall be available to applicants on request. 3002 The Employer will be required to post a notice of vacancy for only five (5) days for a vacancy that is created by:

  • FURNITURE CLASSIFICATIONS Furniture classifications include but not limited to: Cafeteria, Dormitory, Library Shelving and Library Related, Lounge, Systems (Modular), School (Classroom), Freestanding, Seating, Filing Systems and Equipment, and Technology Support.

  • Interim Operations (a) The Company covenants and agrees as to itself and its Subsidiaries that, from and after the execution of this Agreement and prior to the Effective Time (unless Parent shall otherwise approve in writing, which approval shall not be unreasonably withheld, conditioned or delayed, and except as (1) required by applicable Law, (2) expressly required by this Agreement or (3) otherwise expressly disclosed in Section 6.1(a) of the Company Disclosure Letter), the Company shall use its reasonable best efforts to conduct its business and the business of its Subsidiaries in the ordinary course of business consistent with past practice and each of the Company and its Subsidiaries shall, subject to compliance with the specific matters set forth below, use reasonable best efforts to preserve its business organization intact and maintain the existing relations and goodwill with Governmental Entities, customers, suppliers, distributors, licensors, creditors, lessors, employees and business associates and others having material business dealings with it and keep available the services of the Company and its Subsidiaries’ present employees and agents. Without limiting the generality of, and in furtherance of, the foregoing, the Company covenants and agrees as to itself and its Subsidiaries that, from and after the date of this Agreement and prior to the Effective Time, except (A) as required by applicable Law, (B) as Parent may approve in writing (such approval not to be unreasonably withheld, conditioned or delayed), (C) as expressly disclosed in Section 6.1(a) of the Company Disclosure Letter or (D) as expressly provided for in this Agreement, the Company shall not and will not permit any of its Subsidiaries to:

  • Excluded Positions When a College temporarily assigns an employee to the duties and responsibilities of a position excluded from the provisions of this Collective Agreement, the employee's obligations to contribute to the regular monthly Union dues under Article 5.4 and his/her seniority shall continue during the period of such temporary assignment up to a maximum period of twelve

  • Safe Operations Notwithstanding any other provision of this Agreement, an NTO may take, or cause to be taken, such action with respect to the operation of its facilities as it deems necessary to maintain Safe Operations. To ensure Safe Operations, the local operating rules of the ITO(s) shall govern the connection and disconnection of generation with NTO transmission facilities. Safe Operations include the application and enforcement of rules, procedures and protocols that are intended to ensure the safety of personnel operating or performing work or tests on transmission facilities.
