Special Overtime. 1. Regular fulltime employees covered by this agreement shall be given preference in assignment to special overtime upon reasonable notification of their availability to work such assignments within existing departmental procedures.

Special Overtime. The supervisor shall be responsible for the posting of a list of overtime and the corresponding grade of pay resulting from additional needs in the buildings, grounds, or at central maintenance no later than Tuesday (if possible) for the weekend. Only persons covered in this Agreement are qualified to perform this work. Employees assigned to weekend security are not eligible to sign up. If no employee signs up by Thursday, at 3:30 p.m., the supervisor shall assign the next eligible or available employee from the overtime roster which has been maintained to ensure that such overtime is equally distributed. The employee who is assigned to overtime may have a qualified substitute from the overtime roster with the approval of the supervisor. This assignment, whether worked or not, shall be counted as an overtime opportunity for the original assigned employee.
Special Overtime. Overtime assignments that are not used for xxxxxxx shall be tracked using SOT Rules as laid out in SOP 2.15

  • Banked Overtime In the event the day in lieu of working the statutory holiday is not provided as stipulated in 8.01.04, this portion may also be banked.

  • Mandatory Overtime Mandatory overtime shall be scheduled 2 weeks in advance of the scheduled event (or as soon as possible after the overtime is known to management.) If there are unforeseen circumstances, the two week requirement will not apply. Where the notice of mandatory overtime is not provided in that time frame, the hours worked will be paid at twice the regular rate. If a member has checked with the Director of Public Safety or designee about a certain date as being a mandatory day, and received a negative answer, that employee shall be waived from any mandatory obligation of the day inquired about. If a staff member has extenuating circumstances occurring on a mandatory overtime day, they may request a release from the mandatory overtime day from the Director of Public Safety, or designee. The employee shall meet with the Director of Public Safety, or designee, to discuss the extenuating circumstance. The Director of Public Safety, or designee, shall respond to the staff member’s request as soon as possible.
